Yikes! Alligators are on the list of scary animals that I stay away from. Guy is definitely a hero.

Saw a viral video a couple years back of a rat terrier (minis weigh 10-12# full-grown) that fell/jumped off a dock and was grabbed by a gator. His owner jumped off the dock and fought the gator in a full death spiral, successfully freeing the dog. Knowing how small my 10# rattie was, the video just amazed me. The pup was pretty chewed up, but survived and was shown on a subsequent video sporting his healed, wounds & scars. Takes a strong man to open a gator's jaws when they average nearly up to nearly 3,000psi jaw strength when they bite.

I grew up in central fla so saw loads of gators. I have common sense respect for them but no real fear. I would wrestle the smaller ones to save a pooch but once they are over 10’ or so it’s time to get another timmie....
