Finland planning to introduce coronavirus vaccine certificate

Looks like my travelling days are soon over. If I need a certificate for a covid vaccine (not accepting a negative test result) I will be a prisoner inside Finland. As a British citizen living in Finland will I ever be allowed to visit my family again? Next we will be having to carry our vaccine cards around with us and be prevented from working without a vaccine. Strange how this idea was never implemented for other illnesses like HIV.

Its all about forced submission of the population. It has nothing to do with health and safety. The whole world is becoming like the old Soviet Union, NK, Cuba and Venezuela.
I've traveled around the world so many times that I have no reason to fly anymore. Any place we need to go we can drive. The wife recently retired so she no longer needs to fly to work.

Forced submission exactly. Both my parents got the vaccine already last week. They don't think covid is a big issue and think the government actions are excessive but they still got vaccinated. Their reasoning was that they no longer want to live like prisoners in their home. 1 year of that has pushed them to it. I guess the majority will also fall in line. I am happy I planned for this crap years ago and live in the middle of nowhere and don't need to have paid employment to survive.

Its a TEMPORARY measure apparently. COVID can affect EVERYONE 99% plus of the population HIV only a fraction of a percent. But dont blame the governments blame those who ( Justifiably) dont feel confident enough in the vacines who still mix and travel thus spreading covid everywhere. Remember Typhoid Mary Refused to self isolate and kept infecting innocent people, Well its the same with Covid there are people most likely to be super spreaders who refuse to isolate. If there was a Typhoid or Cholera pandemic 99% of the folks on this forum would be demanding the carriers be isolated.

I dont go far these days and I dont mix with anyone, the covid reinfection rate-the so called R rate- has just been reported as between 0.7 and 1 so its going down in the UK, govt says we are over the peak so I dont see the panic, they say they can inject 85% of the population & it will give herd immunity.
by all accounts the vaccine only gives about 6 months maximum immunity and people will probably need yearly boosters.

I think in two to three years these vaccination records will be gone and there will be no more discussion. The airlines will also go bankrupt if only half of the people from before fly and if the vaccines do not keep what they promise and even vaccinated can continue to have Corona our governments will run amok with panic and we will be the next few years in the endless crisis, only that lockdowns over 10 years are neither financially feasible and we will not endure the whole thing psychologically 10 years, before that there would be the ultimate war.

PCR test before the flight will also not be an option, the things are too faulty and who wants to pay for a flight that must be canceled two days before the trip, no one will book more.

I just had this conversation with my grandson. He is 31. People under about 40 years old like to travel to foreign countries, see the world, etc. But people over 40 are more inclined to vacation within their own country. I don't know why this is but it happened to me and to everyone in my high school class that I am in contact with. So those over 40 seem to be less intimidated by the upcoming totalitarian travel restrictions than younger people. Unfortunately, it is the people, especially women, 30 and under who reproduce and so are the targets of this push to vaccinate.

We still intend to holiday overseas next year, We have already booked for Canada ( Cruise, truck and train) the west coast from Vancouver up to Alaska. We WERE planning on doing the US but its just too dam dangerous these days, to much crime, rioting, looting and covid, Wife had already paid for a trip to the Deep South but cancelled and moved the booking (to save the money) to the Rail/ Cruise in the Pac NW.

She wont ever go back to the US west coast, She describes San Franciso as being like a Brazilian Favela and LA as being like a scene from The Walking Dead. I so hope america manages to turn itself around and escape from this socialist created nightmare.

We only "stay cation" in the UK, neither of us even has a passport.
we generally do day trips during the summer months but return home at night, much to see in our own country without going abroad.
I was in Canada in 1977 visiting family, now all deceased.

I would be happy to travel just about anywhere right about now! It’s almost been a year since I’ve eaten in a restaurant or gone anywhere. I am so ready..... first trip after we get vaccines I believe will be Vegas. I'm not a gambler but would enjoy dining and sights. I want to take a helicopter tour from there to see the Hoover dam, lake Meade and the Grand Canyon. I’d like to go into the canyon but due to its isolation and travel times I’ll make due with a quick aerial tour. It’s on the bucket list anyways. There are loads of places I’d like to see around the world. Hopefully I’ll get to visit a few of them. I’m afraid that the virus and the effects on world economies from it will likely change our ability to travel like in the past.

if Canada doesn't work out for you for whatever reason - there's plenty of likewise regions in the US you could vacation >>> you wouldn't have any problems across the entire northern stretch of the Great Lakes from the UP to the Dakotas ....

I'm nagging the wife for us to do Montana and Wyoming at some point, spot of dude ranching. But I dont think it will happen during Bidens government.

I'm not even sure foreign holidays will be happening even next year.
the UK infection rate has to come down a lot more than it has already, the new variants are rather messing things up, a holiday either foreign or domestic this year is probably a non event, lock down wont be lifted until May at least and most organised events this year have been cancelled.
anyone coming back from a list of 33 countries has to isolate in a designated hotel for 10 days at a personal cost to them of £1750 per person.
any foreign travel in future will probably require proof of vaccination, several countries already saying as much.

There’s an HIV vaccine?

there is currently no vaccine for HIV but there are a couple in development and trials.

Uh guys. The meds I see on tv right now are one micro step away from being the cure for HIV. You take them and they bring the level of HIV down so low, a lab can't even detect it any longer. So low you cant transmit it either. Sure you have to take them for life. But I think within the next 10 years, they will make a cure. I just thought I would put this out there cause from some of the comments it seems like they don't know this already.

As for traveling, I will admit a small part of me would love to see other parts of our country. I loved visiting Mesa Verde and four corners along with many places in CO. It would be nice to experience them with my hunny, but I also know that what we have going on here we can not just up and leave for an extended period of time. I am not worried about not producing a vaccine certificate to travel.
