I’m not for any kind of torture, retaliation or harsh procedure. I do think that after youre found guilty, and as long as there was positive proof then you should be taken out behind the courthouse and executed without delay. In cases where it is just circumstantial evidence then you could have a period of appeal, but certainly not decades. Personally I think a 22cal behind the ear, into the center of the brain is pretty effective, and cheap. Since you bad enough to be executed in the first place then an unmarked grave where you’re dropped into a hole and covered up is all you deserve. No mess, no fuss, no memory.

Depends on the crime. If a sicko kidnaps a kid, repeatedly rapes the kid, then torture really would not be enough, Extreme Torture is called for! Many other crimes where a death penalty would be just to good for them! The Good Book says, an eye for an eye, sometimes that eye needs to be stretched, make others think twice before doing the same crime!

firing squad is to my mind the best option, other methods have proven over the years to have not been as lethal as they should be, and accidents have happened prolonging the experience, capital punishment is not supposed to be torture but a quick and effective way to dispense justice.

Not for the government, there's not. The various Law Enforcement agencies get first dibs on factory production, which is part of the reason for the shortage. According to the owner of the gun shop I use, they were already in a resupply phase when all this hit. Massive government ammo contracts + increased demands produced a "Perfect Storm."
