Will not want to evacuate when told to. . . . they will not let you chose which way you go. Even if you have a place to go to, they will send you off in another direction. I experienced this when I decided to evacuate during one of our hurricanes. Wanted to go to my Uncles house. I had 4 dogs with me and even after explaining that I had a place to actually go, I was still forced into the direction of the shelters. Finally pulled out of line, pretended I was a local and went the opposite direction to a side road that took me the back way. I was going to go where I wanted one way or another, but had to burn up way more gas than I intended. . . think I ended up driving an extra 80 miles or so. Thank goodness I had a map with me and wrote down each time they had their roadblocks up

I find this interesting. Thanks for posting it. One thing that we could use this for is forming bug out routes because we know if we used these plans we could get stuck in the traffic. Another thought is if you use these routes you could be a target for thieves and miradors.
