Take a look at this tracking

It went from Illinois
To Memphis
Memphis to Jackson
Then up to Maine
It departed Maine and is supposedly on its way back to Jackson

Oddly enough, it makes perfect sense. It's on a plane.
Next time you take a flight, ask the stewardess what other cities the plane is going to that day. It will be several.
If it is picking up packages for Jackson at each one, they will not unload it until it finishes it's circuit at the end of the day. The plane probably started it's day in Jackson and will end it's day there and be unloaded.

Doesn't "arrived at the regional facility" mean it has to be scanned, that post mark is actually at the facility not just in a box on a plane?? And when I first read this SuperV, I thought only YOU could make sense of this!!😉😃

It was on the manifest.
They were just confirming that the plane (and it) did make it to Maine.
Manifest:
noun
a list of the cargo carried by a ship, made for the use of various agents and officials at the ports of destination.
a list or invoice of goods transported by truck, plane or train.

I discovered ages ago, if you want to guarantee your package arrives, insure it for 1000$.
it added little to the cost of my knives and I had several customers who were happy to get ripped off for a $75 knife and ordered more.

In 2022 the USPS handled about 490 million units of mail every business day. Even if they followed the 6-sigma benchmark of 99.7% success, they'd still screw up 1.5 million units per day. That metric is for items. Now consider how many steps/actions an item goes through between pickup and delivery, those numbers balloon. It's amazing they do as well as they do. I've had UPS and FedEx also route items weirdly. Most likely one miss-sort action puts it in the wrong crate and the individual item isn't scanned again until it's being sorted for last-mile delivery, where it gets put on a corrected course.

I suggest that they put a moratorium on junk?

At more than one occasion, I thought about attaching A trash can to my mailbox. If they didn't deliver so much junk mail, they could do so much better with legitimate mail?

Fun tip: when you get two unsolicited offers with business reply envelopes at once? Put the opposite ads in the envelopes and mail them. Then imagine their disappointment from having paid the postage to get junk mail sent to them!

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard that junk mail postage provides more funding than legit mail.

I had a two thousand dollar check go to the wrong address.
Thank God it was a cashier check & I got another one & sent it to the right address..
Thing is the first check never came back!

I guess it's a real bummer if you get a big fat cashier check and it has somebody else's name on it .
