Waterproofing Canvas TARPS..??

Back in the dark ages, our scout troop had canvas tents. About once a year, when we had a nice no rain campout (they didn't happen often enough for me :p ) the cans of "Camp Dry" would come out and get sprayed on the tents. Let it dry good.

Worked pretty good as I remember, but it's been 50+ years.

BTW, NEVER set your tent up with a front flap that doesn't slope (don't ask how I learned)

The product that most closely compares to WW2 tent and vehicle canvas waterproofing is Canvak. It is used by jeep restorers (including myself) and WW2 reenactors. It is a wax-based liquid that can be sprayed on or brushed on. If you ever smelled the odor (aroma) of military OD canvas on a hot, sunny day, this product will do it.
