I just came to look around and it seems like a pleasant place to stop in and visit so I went ahead and registered. I see some familiar faces from PS and some new faces too. I hope this remains a nice place and I will do my best to keep it that way.

Yep, a bunch of CMG forum people are landing here. It's been fun. I've missed out on a lot not exploring the other forums that existed.

Havasu or Austin would mention the other forums on different occasions. I would take a look at them but then go back to where I was comfortable. I have been on CF since it was about six months old before Austin sold it.

So, those two are old names I've known for a few years now. havasu said get my tail over to the gun forum so I listened and did it. Glad for it too.

CF? Chicken Forum?

I am a good sheep dog. The only time the sheep like me is when I am chasing the wolves. ;)

I wasn't a fan of the chicken forum. I love chickens, but there's only so much you can say about them.
If your only reason for having them is meat and eggs, then no, you wouldn't like it. Most there have them for lawn ornaments. Look at my avatar, sort of says she wasn't for meat. Eggs yes, because I could sell them for high bucks.

I have a few silkie eggs in the incubator right now. We've hatched a dozen or so. My son likes to raise them. He sells them for the cuteness factor. Kind of like a purse puppy. They are adorable. His main rooster Duncan, though, is not adorable. He loves to attack, which is funny when you see a silkie trying to attack you. They are very cool chickens!

Cool chicken sounds like something you put between slices of bread for lunch... ;)

Im a chicken freak here. Have breeding pairs of Dominiques, Dorkings, dark Cornish (Indian game bird). With a few others sprinkled in. I have a very specific bearding program. I keep them for eggs, meat, money, and entertainment. I also raise chocolate turkeys. I enjoy my turkeys. Never really got along with people on the chicken forums. Prefer a forum just like this one! Very excited to be here!

Now silkies are the creepiest birds i have ever butchered, very tasty, but creepy!

The cornish meat chickens are just really gross birds. We raised some for the first time last year and they were the dumbest chickens ever. A number of them killed themselves by playing chicken tetris in the little 3 inch gap between a dog house and a chain link fence. One jumped in, another jumped on, another....five dead in all. It took me half a day to find them. I think they're so dumb because they have to be butchered so young they haven't learned anything. And they eat and eat and eat nonstop. Was so glad when we butchered the rest of them. They were tasty, but terrible chickens. So how about Black Jersey Giants? I have a half dz hens, good layers. Never butchered one of those kind. I'm asking because their feet and legs are black. Are their bodies black, too?

Nope skin is normal. Very tasty bird juat take awhile to grow and they really lime the feed. If you can give your giants fermented feed and it will save on feed and grow them a bit faster.

Warm welcome from the Arizona Valley folks. This place should stay friendly, good people keeping a watch.
