A person can be disabled but is required to be "LEGALLY" Disabled. Do you petition the courts..??
(Which begs the question can you be illegally disabled)

I still don't grasp the "legally" part. For example, for me to get "LEGALLY" emancipated from my parents, required a lawyer filing paperwork, an appearance in court before a judge, who ruled, and signed the legal and recorded document to be declared "LEGALLY" emancipated.I am disabled and in order to obtain social security disability benefits it required a Dr to sign off that I was indeed disabled
After that hurtle. All that is needed is to show proof of social security disability benefits for tags, taxes, etc etc
If disabled you are sent a form every year that has your benefit details this is the form “they” want to see
Here is the process
Go to the SS office and request what ever form they require to apply for disability
Take that form to your dr and have him/her fill in with as much detail as possible what your matter is
Turn the form into SS
They will contact you and have you go to a SS approved Dr. Who will evaluate your disability
Mine asked me to pick up a box off the floor that weighed 50 pounds. I told no. I will not put myself through that pain
He signed my papers. Lol
If the Dr agrees with your Dr then after a few weeks you will be approved
When approved then you are legally disabled your condition has been vetted
I think in this context, "legally" simply means "in the eyes of the law".I still don't grasp the "legally" part.
