In a cabin, on a mountain, in "Wilderness" Alaska.
Likely been 25 or 30 years I was in a movie theater. I think it was about $3.00
Curious the current cost.

It has been close to 10 years since I have been in a theater, and one ticket, popcorn and a drink was about $30.

The last movie I went to see was Dune (2021) at an imax theater and the ticket price was around $20.

It will depend on when you are going. We saw American Underdog a few weeks ago. We went to a matinee and it was around $5.50 each. If you go to an evening show it is around $12.50 each.

We didn't go to the concession stand, but if you do it will be at least another $10.00 per person for popcorn and soda. For candy you have to take out a loan.

I just looked it up at the theatre in the next closest town. $10.39 for adult ticket. $8.89 for senior. No matinee pricing. That's a lot! We just bought tickets at the small theatre in town for a play for Thursday evening. Five of us costs $68.00. Two seniors, two teens, and one ten yr old. I thought that wasn't very much for a play. We're seeing Mathilda.

I can generally order the DVD cheaper than going to the theater for a couple, and my popcorn is better, not to mention my beer selection,

I think the last time I went it was $12 per person. Asking the kids they’re saying $5 something for matinee and $7 for evening shows, adult prices. Most places give a senior discount too. Our theaters don’t search your bags and don’t forbid snacks from the outside. “Smuggling” candy in from the drugstore, sodas and popcorn from home. No one has ever asked to see inside my bag either.

Anywhere from $12 or maybe up to $20 depending on if you go to a regular theater or one of the fancy places. The last movie i went to was about 5 years ago and only because I had free passes. Even with that I put it off 11 months and went just before they expired. I don't think any movie is worth the price they charge now.
If, and that is a big IF, they ever come up with a new movie I would be interested in watching I would wait 6 months for it to come out on one of the internet channels we get. Even buying a DVD would be a better option if it was a good movie and then I could watch it over and over for the single purchase price.

I saw Black Widow, love SJ, but the movie was so woke that I had less fun, then I could have.
Food & ticket was about $30.00.

We saw Ghostbusters Afterlife in theaters back when it opened. It was $6 per ticket. It was a Regal theater with discount days on Tuesdays and Sundays.

I think that the last movie we went to was National Treasure, it cost too much then... I am perfectly fine with just buying what I want for about $15 and watching it over like @INresponse, plus I must have a very short attention span, it takes me 2 or 3 days to watch a full movie....

You can got to the movies and the auditorium will be practically empty. Covid has a lot to do with that.

At the new James Bond movie, we were the only people the theater My son, who is special needs, doesn't like crowds so we wait about 2 weeks from opening to take him.

The price here is $11- $13.

the girls are on the spectrum and have issues with focusing and staying quiet. I was surprised how many people were in the theater to see Afterlife on a Tuesday night. But then this is a theater out by Palm Springs. Lots of other kids. Everyone left before the credits except us. We stayed until they finished and saw the 2 extra scenes.

I haven't been in a movie theater in more than 10 years. Around here there are a variety of theaters from the Museum of Nature and Science, to theaters that show movies that have been out for a while. I prefer to watch movies from home, especially since the pandemic. It is rare, but once in a while I will pay per view at home, but what I usually watch is on a subscription.

The last movie we saw in a theater before the shutdowns was Disneys Onward. Liked it alot. First movie since Cali started opening up (before the re-shut down) was Ghostbusters Afterlife. We normally buy dvds to watch a movie once they hit the $5 bin.

Yeah, movies now hide some good scenes after the credits. My son has Fragile X Syndrome. He has almost all of the checklist for autism, but his is diagnosed with DNA. It's a hereditary mutation of the X chromosome. Had never heard of it......until.

With girls it is hard to diagnose via behavior until they are near adults. Women/girls are good at fitting in to the group norms so they don't present behaviors from the spectrum unless they are on the very far end or are non verbal. Masking behaviors is the main reason they use to say girls can't be autistic. Boys don't give 2 shits if they are seen as 'off' while girls are bullied or pressured if they are.

But enough about that. Back to the movies!

We play a game similar to 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon with the girls on the weekends when K is home. We watch movies starting with a Kevin Bacon movie. The next movie stars an actor from the KB movie. And so on until we come back to Kevin Bacon. Sometimes we just keep going avoiding the KB movies.

The current round has been going on for a few weeks. The last movie we watched was Afterlife (on blue ray) on Sunday. Now we need to find a movie that has one of those actors in it. K says Antman. I say the animated Addams Family movie.

I had a student many years ago who had Fragile X Syndrome. He is now a graduate of Colorado School of Mines and is married.
