I searched Google for "What is the Jack London, short story about man who nearly starved, then always had biscuits?" and the following popped up:

"Finis"

Is that it? The entire story appears at the link above, but I didn't read it to see if it mentioned biscuits. The Google hit implied that it does:

NO..........But I had never read that story, and I enjoyed your discovery. Thank You. The one I am remembering was quite short. There was no violence in it, the sourdough had nearly starved to death on the trail. But he lived, and he never would leave town, and all of his pockets, for the rest of his life were fully stuffed with biscuits.

I always have a big box of the dry granola bars around and carry some whenever. I can go several days on them quite happily.
Jack London has some great stories out there. I also like Robert Service. I have been to his cabin in Dawson city and one summer there was a guy in full 1898 garb hanging around at the arctic circle sign on the Dempster highway (all the travelers stop there for a photo and it is in the middle of nowhere) reciting Service's poetry. The Cremation of Sam Magee sort of thing. The best line I liked was "I have cinched and closed with the naked north but the north will win in the end".

Clif Bars are now my biscuit of choice. I don't keep them in my pockets, but I have at least two with me wherever I go.

YES, That is the story.........THANK YOU.

Glad you found it. Now we all have a nice collection of Jack London to read. Excellent side benefit. :clapping:
