What is your dream vacation/travel destination? Places you dream of going, or places you have already been. I have a couple that I'd like to go to (in no particular order):

(1) One of those Viking riverboat cruises down a river in Europe

(2) Vietnam - Ha Long Bay grabs my interest

(3) Tierra del Fuego

(4) Columbia river cruise in Oregon, USA

(5) New Zealand

(6) Machu Picchu

I would go back to the South Island of New Zealand. It is the only place I have been that very nearly equals Alaska.

Scotland
The Keys (a favorite)
Maine
Japan
Unusual, difficult to get to places, Andes Mountains, Chile
Sequoia and Redwood forests
Rainforest in Washington
Ketchikan

I have a few places of interest. Some are not because there is anything special about them, but because they are the homes of my distant ancestors...

The first, is Castle Buchollie in the far north of Scotland.

Next is Norway, to a place that was known as Helvik. A branch of the same family that had owned Castle Bucholie, moved here and prospered in the 1600s. Those were my paternal grandmother's ancestors. Near Helvik is the Barony Rosendahl which is on land owned by my ancestors...

The Barony is a museum now, and near some spectacular glaciers and coastline.

After that I would travel south down the coast and visit Stavanger, where my maternal grandmother's family was from. The current owners of their farm have welcomed some of my cousins to visit in the past.

Last I would travel to the north German coast near Hamburg, to try and find where my mother's German ancestors were at.

I took a bucket list trip to Alaska 7 years ago; would love to go back.
Would love to do a few bike trips to places in the States I didn't get to when I was there, such as the Pacific coast, Albuquerque to visit the Georgia O'Keefe museum and New Orleans.
and I'd like to head back to Deals Gap in Tennessee. Still on the bucket list is Canada by train, Tallin, Budapest and Transylvania, and the Dakkar Rally.
Years ago I worked out a route for a bike trip from Norway to India- don't think I'd be able for it now!
Great thread @Haertig thank you

I don't really have a "dream vacation" location. There are places I'd have loved to visit years ago but with all the crazy stuff going on in the world, I dunno.

Used to think I'd like to visit Australia. Used to think I'd like to visit parts of France. Heck, 70 years ago, I'd have probably loved California! But things change.

We're done traveling but I can tell you what my favorite place we went to were

India
Scotland
Bavaria , Switzerland and Austria , love the Alps
( I grew in Europe so been to most of it)

In the U.S.: some of the NP like Yellowstone, Acadia in Maine, Olympic in Washington and the Rocky Mountain one in Colorado

If I did go on another trip I might want to see Japan, Thailand and Romania
