The wife and I added to our food supply this weekend. Stocking up on canned goods with expiration days into late 2014 and 2015. Goal is to have enough canned goods to last a year. Then start eating on the stuff that will expire within 3 months.

one thing i've learned about tobacoo seeds and plants..the soil has to be extremly high on nutriants for them,or you'll have no luck with them..that i learned the from 2 trys..good luck with them

got parts for green house last month
I scavenged almost everything on my greenhouse, so far I've got about 400.00 in it, which is still pretty good, especially for the size 18'x21'. I just ordered winter veggie seeds last night. What are you going to cover it with, I wanted plexiglass panels but went with a heavy woven fabric as it was a fith of the price. Good luck.

got green house but covered with plastic right now buying plexiglass for piece by piece as for tobacco the seed wasnt that pricey for 200 seed each types i got . but i listen to all advise .ill get good nutriants for them hopei have some luck its just atry never learn if i dont try might notwork for were i am and temputure but will give it a shot thanks

I've come to find out another family at our kids school is a prepper. We are both in the same occupation but he said something the other day that made me think "how many people would go buy my cows before someone thought HAMBERGER!!!"? It really made me think about about how many people really have no idea how to take care of themselves.

It really is sad how unprepared most are. I work retail, so there's a lot of young girls working the registers, almost all of them don't even know how to cook, eat fast food every day and have no goals for the future. ( or at least no plan to get them there). I like to encourage people gently to think about being prepared for any sort of emergency, but I think it's something that's either in you allready or not. Most are like sheep and live for the moment, I really think this country is in for a rude awakening when the power goes out.

yeah..lots of the young people need a rude awakening to how things really are..telling them that they need to learn how to cook,is like telling them they need to breath and eat in order to live..and they stand there not beleaveing you..

I got myself 6 cases of 32 bottle water for 2.88 a case that was a great deal. Not that makes 6-32 packs 4-35 packs 2-28 packs and 2-24 packs of water along with the gallon jugs I have
