My Irishman has been "cooking" last night.
We had pizza, he had a beer, I had a coke.(Pizza Hut pizza)
My Irishman has my car and motorcycle keys.
And he has put his foot down " I'm not getting them back until a week from Monday(tomorrow)".
Maybe if I behave between now and then, I will get them back then.
My sons just laugh at both of us and so does his mother.
They are wisely not getting in the middle.
My Irishman took me to a lake today just to get out of the house for a while.
He held me while I cried out at the lake.
I am very glad that he's here.
Otherwise I would be dealing with this alone.
His mother thinks we balance each other out.
I guess that's good.
I have to go to the bank tomorrow.
Get all my ribbons and stuff to wear on my Class A uniform out of the Safety Deposit Box.
Her family asked the 6 to be her pall bears at her private family service on Wednesday afternoon.
All of the 6's menfolk(husbands and my Irishman) will be backup in case it's too much.
That will also be a rough, hard day.
Then Thursday afternoon about 1300 hours, the 6 and our menfolk along with the rest of the unit will meet at the Company's flag pole for our Unit's military tradition of a bourbon and stogie as a send off. While the Jewelry engraver engraves her name,DOB and DOD on the flag pole.
My Irishman goes home the following Wednesday.

Good to see you back Mo

Fiddled around the house this morning, watched a little football. Then ran some errands. Got back home and unloaded the truck. Fed and watered our birds, then sat out and had me a nice stoogie. Gonna watch Bama and Ga tonight. Probly catch a little of the Braves and Royals play baseball as well.

Friends dropped off the beef calf this morning. Checked on him several times, getting him used to coming when I call.

Did some more bush hogging this afternoon. The hard stuff, around the edges, spent as much time in reverse as going forward. Got the bull pen cleaned up enough to turn the calf out on grass for a couple hours before dark. Wasn't happy with the way i'd left it the other day. Then moved on to the pasture by the highway for more work.

You know that sound a fire extinguisher makes when you run over it with a bush hog? Well, I do now. A fence was over grown with vines and brush. I was busy trying to stay in the tractor seat without getting knocked off. Missed the extinguisher getting knocked off it’s mounting. And… ran over it, a big poof of white powder.

Kept working but didn’t finish that pasture. Later I picked up a wad of barbwire, got tangled in the blades. Couldn’t get it out without tools. It was late so I called it quits. Problem for another day.

Had supper, watching a ball game on tv.

Cruel to keep us in suspense: when you call him what?
Also glad the fire extinguisher didn’t cause any damage!

@MoBookworm1957 Good to see you back. Also glad to hear it sounds like you have support from different directions. Making it through Wed won’t make it any more right but will help you heal with the support of the other 6. Continued prayers my friend 🙏

I must have missed some posts somewhere: Happy anniversary @UrbanHunter ♥️

I want you to know I have an amazing bunch of family and friends.
They have pretty much accepted my Irishman as part of the family.
Whether he is actual family or not.
And he has been accepted as part of my Military family.
And he has stepped up the plate ever so elegantly for me.
And he isn't Military either.
First time me dating a civilian ever.

Was a bit of a bum this morning, kinda slow moving. Then finally woke up and got a few things done. Finished cleaning in the spare room, made sourdough which is in the oven now, played in the garden a bit. Anybody wanna get in a good scrap, go ahead and ask me how much I love crab grass 🤨. Went by and saw the folks for a bit. They have been getting some firewood and are nearly done.

Jake and I cleared brush all day around our deer stands. We hadn’t done it in several years and you couldn’t see very well. We will probably work on it again tomorrow. We ave them all where we can drive to them with the mule now. No more dragging deer for us!

What kinda reel?
Last 2 I've gotten are Phlugers. Great reels and not too costly either, under $75 when I got them

What kind of rod and reel? Also what line and what are you fishing for?

Dealt with chores all morning. Found one of our younger barn cats on the porch this morning, with most of his face missing. Not sure what animal did that. Bobcat? Fox? Raccoon? Anyway, got it dealt with before little granddaughter had to see it. Ran errands after husband's afternoon infusion in the bigger town. Little granddaughter found some "Stranger Things" candles that she loved, so I treated her. Weird thing for Bath and Body Works to sell, but maybe because it's nearly October. Went to Kohls because she needed a few things. Went to Atwoods...found some new shovels, a new incubator for next season, and a few cauliflower plants that were good sized that they were clearing out for a buck. Also loaded up on 17 bags of feed, 40 lbs each. Then we went to the iced tea place, went in and grabbed our tea. Went home and unloaded those bags, Levi came and helped, and were missing 80lbs of chicken scratch that I know for sure was loaded. I know, because I watched the guys load up my truck. So someone walked off with two bags while we were getting some iced tea. That frosted me. The crime rate in our bigger town is still pretty low, so I was surprised. There's not really even a "bad" part of town there, at least not compared to what I saw in Albuquerque. Husband didn't want much for dinner, not feeling well. Made him an omelet and some toast with bread I had just made. Levi and little granddaughter wanted pancakes, so I put the two of them to work making those, and I fried up eggs to go with them.

ok got glasses on for dealing with line and could read the tiny print...its and eagle claw pack it combo.

that was a chore getting crazy line off reel...like a slinky...4# test back on it for bream and trout now.

I worry about the same thing. Some people can't resist an easy target. I've stuffed 400lbs of feed in the cab of my truck w\groceries before. with just one more stop for take-out. Didn't want to tempt some a hole. It was tight squeeze to be sure.

I know you couldn't do much else with 17 bags of feed. A shame... can't turn your back for moment these days. Jerk probably didn't even have chickens!

I ran it by Hubby. He said Eagle Claw makes hooks so he could see that they would do a kit. 4# good for trout. He said he doesn’t have experience with it so can’t really speak to it. Hope the new line helps and you catch a whopper.

Back in 70's and 80's i had several eagle claw rods and reels. Especially they had a signature series for Tom Mann...who was a famous fisherman....they were fantastic reels.

this kit i am assembling is my doing not eagle claws per say...its going to have this pack it rod/reel combo in it is all. its only the rod i was working on for my pack last night. the micro tackle box will go in my front or back pocket even....more to come and show.....testing in field first. no fishing for awhile though with all this flooding....i wouldnt get close to a river bank now for fear of collapsing in places.

Going to clean my building in a bit, then coming straight home and washing my vehicles. 90° and no rain in site for the foreseeable future! Hubby's older lady he works for is in the hospital. He is dog sitting, heading over there now to feed and let it out and check on the house. Hopefully she's home today!
