I love music and have often thought about what I'd choose if I had to pick what I'd want to listen to over and over again...as in "stuck with" listening to for long time?

Assuming you are like me and can't play instrument/s or carry a tune in a bucket!

What would be your top 10 songs? Although I'd like to expand to at least 20 top songs...maybe even 100 would be hard decision for me...

I’d probably just lean towards keeping a backup copy of my top 100 cds in a cd-r spindle at the BOL. Be sure to keep a portable CD player next to the beofangs inside the popcorn tin. Emp won’t hurt the cds.
As for selection, most anything I would think northern city folk would hate

I am eclectic as well....I have about 500 CD albums (collected and protected over 30 + years) so wouldn't have to do by individual songs necessarily.

Itzak Pearlman's best of
John Denver
Garth Brooks (all)
Random Classical
Gypsy!
Ragtime
Billy Joel
Muse
Smashing Pumpkins
UB40
U2
Swing
Big Band
Misc Movie
Def Leppard
Bon Jovie
Aerosmith
The Animals
The Beach Boys
Whitney Houston
Michael Bolton
Queen

You name it, I probably have it....except hip hop, rap and (female) opera. Our family plays instruments and sing, so, in the event that electronics are fried I still have a few vinyl's and a record player and we can make our own music.

How "eclectic" is this collection? There are a lot more recent ones (especially digital) but these are just the vinyl, CD, and cassette albums off the top of my head:
Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)
Bobby Gentry
Elvis
Linda Ronstadt
Amy Grant
Beatles
Franki Valli
The Royal Guardsmen
Willie Nelson
Mozart
Tchaikovsky
Beethoven
Bach

👍Our cabin is also about 1/2 mile from the road and behind a lot of muting, dense yaupon trees/bushes along all fence lines up to the cabin. I think I can play our CD's as long as the electricity or my solar charger is able to run the player. Pianos are so nice in that they only require my hands. Just can't figure out how in the heck to get it in our tiny cabin with barely room to move around in, or it would already be pre-positioned there. I dont' even think our steps into the cabin would support the weight of a piano being brought in, even if there were room for it there. :(

But just like we have recently seen here in Texas, even a get away cabin is not safe. And local police didn't even give a heads up about a loose convict. I'm not saying do not enjoy yourself with music. Lord knows I love mine and when I am not listening to the radio, I sing while doing my work. Just always be aware of your surroundings! No matter how far away from civilization you think you are. . .

Most of ours is digital, over 8 hrs last I knew. It goes from Big Band to rock to country to Classical.

Heard a lesser played one today. enjoyed the long version.

One of my favorites is very dear to my heart. It was our wedding dance after our 35 yr break.

Love all the lists of everyone who posted! I have too many to list I'd want with me, if only in my head...
Personally music across all genres has gotten me through many, many good and bad times...it is a "glue" for me in many ways for holding myself together if for just an outlet or even means of therapy for me...not saying it would be a priority if SHTF...but hopefully I'd at least have memories of songs in my head for inspiration, comfort or whatever reason to help get me through some days...or maybe even just one more day...

I forgot to add...I do understand if SHTF it's not going to be about whatever makes us feel "warm n fuzzy"...BUT any advantage I can give myself even if in my head...humming tunes for inspiration.. ..I'm likely gonna draw from...there is a reason we have music...IMHO
i have a co-worker who is in the cold room with me. She is a Hispanic from Honduras. She sometimes plays music, but today she actually playws Cion,

We have a Playlist FRK❤️FTL or it could be FTL/FRK. Guess what those stand for and you win a prize.
We sent our era songs to each other as we were getting reacquainted after 35 yrs apart .
One song stuck out, She found it and I said that is going to our wedding dance. Hadn’t even seen her in 35 yrs. Our list is just love songs.
But If you listen, you will understand why

Went to one of the few Concerts he does in NM.In meet and Greet said the song was written by Dave Loggins (Kenneys’s Cousin, Please Come to Boston) Fame )

Many people will be more familiar with this song and consider him a one hit wonder

He did some good stuff.

Could not be more appropriate for today!

I first heard Bufffalo Springfield's signature song on a radio station late at night. I had never heard of the band or the song and all I remembered was the DJ saying "Buffalo Springfield." For years I thought "Buffalo Springfield" was the name of the song. I did not hear the song again for a long time, but it stuck in my mind, so I thought it was some obscure song nobody heard of that ought to be more popular. Then when I found out it was the name of the band, for decades after that I thought that the name of the song was "Something's happening here."
At any rate, the song made a deep and lasting impression on me.
