Wiring Question

So the contractor pulled the doorbell when he was working so he could move wires etc. Understandable. He didn't however take a picture of how it was connected prior to pulling it so we could put it back up

Can anyone help me. Shouldn't be that difficult but not finding anything online and no markings as to what kind of doorbell it is (1968). Here's what I have: looks as though green and blue were not part of the game.

More info required.

Look for the white cable connected to a transform in the basement. Try checking for 12 VAC between the black and white wire. If so those correct to the AC input on the right of the doorbell.

Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity between the red and white wire of the black cable. Continuity when button pushed and open circuit when the button is not pushed.

The pair that connects to the button connects to either front or back door connections.

I'll have hubby bring home the volt meter we have at work. There are wires all over this place - we've pulled many (tv and phone). Not sure where these originate, but they do go up into the attic (no basement). Will see what we can figure out with both of us on it.

If you have door bell button at both front and back door, pulling the button loose to see what color the wires are for each.

So from the back door, we got continuity in the white cable with the green and white wires. We couldn't get anything from the black cable with either doorbell. Obviously the back door is of little importance as the front door is where folks walk up to.
