Depends what you mean. If you're talking about armed robbery, well, it already happens over here. If you're talking about British women defending themselves, in those circumstances, I can assure we would. However, as the average British woman does not have access to that sort of firepower, I myself have a plan should my home be burglarised whilst I'm in it. It does not involve confrontation, as I would lose. I do have an excellent insurance policy that covers such an eventuality I am prepared as I can be under UK law.

yes, as UK law stands now there is very little we can do, only "reasonable force"-whatever that is and we cant use a weapon and once the burglar leaves we cant chase them down the street. pretty abysmal really!!

Didn't some rural home owner or farmer get in trouble for killing a burglar some years ago in Britain, I think the victim was sentence for murder or something like that?

Yup Farmer Tony Martin, jailed originally for murder, then it was changed to manslaughter after national outrage. He lived in a very remote farm far from any town, he had been burgled 3 times in recent weeks and it was putting him out of business. The intruders were coming most nights trying to steal stuff so much so he ended up sleeping fully clothed so he could respond. After the 3rd burglary the police told him that (A) They could not respond to any more 999 calls from him, and (B) if they did it could take up to 45 minutes to get an officer there.

Not long after two thieving scum broke into his house in the middle of the night, he challenged them and fired his shotgun at them. Unfortunately as he challenged them and before he fired they turned around and were trying to get out of his house. So when he fired he him one of them in the back killing him. In this left wing politically correct multi cultural socialist paradise the criminals human rights trump those of their victims so Farmer Martin got sent to jail for protect his own home and property even though the cops said they could not help him.

In the UK the cops and government and lefties would rather read about a young girl being raped and murdered than read about her shooting her attacker.

The world is a messed up place when you can't protect yourself in your own home. I understand the authorities not wanting vigilantes chasing down suspects in the streets, but in your own home? where has any common sense gone.
