Old Man Winter will be making another return to East Texas on Friday, except this time around, he will keep the chill in the air for a prolonged period of time, lasting through the middle of next week.
The cold front will move through @@@@@@ and @@@@@@@@@@@ through the late morning hours and continue pushing through Hemphill and Jasper by the middle part of Friday afternoon.
This cold front will have several variables coming into play that will keep the cold in place and make for some blustery conditions.
The first thing of note is the gusty north winds that will be picking up in speed where you live, once the front moves through your community.
We will also have scattered to numerous rain showers passing through East Texas as we progress throughout the day. Even behind the front, a light rain will persist through Friday night and continue into the first half of your day on Saturday. Yes, that's right; Saturday will not be the prettiest of days. Instead, it will feel like one of those winter days that consist of a cold rain and temperatures struggling to get out of the 40's.

We may see a brief break in the precipitation on Sunday before a low pressure system moves overhead on Monday, bringing in another round of precipitation. At this time, it appears that Deep East Texas will just be in store for a cold rain. Areas in North Central and Northeast Texas could see some sleet and/or freezing rain late Sunday night as ground temperatures will be close to freezing in those locations.
Even though we don't anticipate any wintry precipitation around here, we will certainly monitor the latest forecast models and keep you up-to-date.
In the meantime, get ready to crank up those heaters again and plan on doing some indoor activities this weekend.
