Will this explains a lot, I guess life is a mental health issue... Yep, No hope for the future!

"About half of millennials and 75 percent of Gen Zers have quit their jobs for mental health reasons"

"For baby boomers, the number was the lowest, with less than 10 percent quitting a job for mental-health purposes"

I don’t care what party is in power at any given time. Neither seem to be able to know how to balance a checkbook! We are allready bankrupt as a country and are just too stupid to know it yet. What is it now, 22trillion? Yeah, 90% of the free stuff needs to stop, yesterday.
On a positive note I saw the guy over dekalb county in Ga. they put the brakes on spending and have a 100+ million surplus. He was using the ant and grasshopper parable as an example. They cut out all wants and only spend on needs for the last year or so. He said they are saving for when the economy takes a downturn. First time I’ve respected something coming out of a politicians mouth in a long time.

Glad you are back Brent. All I can say to Mavs post is we are screwed in our future and doomsday may be right around the corner sooner than we think.
Thanks, I was missing everyone! I’m Leary of any social media as I see it used by the govt, employers and even in social relationships to bring up stuff out of context that was said years ago to paint someone as evil. This is the only form of social media I’ve ever used but am sure some of the things I’ve posted could be misconstrued easily. Either way, I do enjoy most of the banter and conversations here, so why stop?

Good advice. Yeah, it is short, just celebrated my youngest son’s 31st birthday tonight. He is still depressed over it! 31 is looking pretty good from my perspective nowadays....
My MIL passed away a couple days ago at the age of 96. She lived life to the fullest she could at that age everyday. Even though I had to give up a lot of what I normally do on a day to day basis, I was able to help her live herS in her final days so I have no regrets in what I did. . . .

When I was a medic, mental health was a big issue with my co-workers. I miss my field, as I got steel rods in my back and a spinal fusion, but I also have PTSD, chronic nightmares, flashbacks, and so on.

I've seen perhaps 8,000 car accidents, perhaps 1,000 human deaths, decomposed human bodies....I've been stabbed, shot at, and so on.

Don't downplay the mental health angle. PTSD is real.....not something that has to be "toughed out" because you need to "man up" and stop "being a pansy", and so on. When people say things like this, I get strongly tempted to punch them in the face.

when you have a two party system(we have other parties in the UK but they will never get into power) made up of Elite's who think they know better than the voters that elected them and go against the wishes of said voters then that's the end of democracy.

I’m sorry she passed, but hope it was as peaceful as possible. I know you were doing a lot of work on your house for her. You can’t complain about a life of 96 years though. As they say, she got her money’s worth!

I know there are true mental health issues that are serious, like PTSD and depression, especially in high-stress and dangerous fields. I'm not minimizing the importance of understanding and treating those appropriately. I just don't have time for the spoiled (presumably of rich parents) college kids who get such severe anxiety from working 15 hours a week while in school that they have to quit their jobs without notice.

Sorry to hear about your mother in law. She was lucky to have you to take care of her.

Bravo! Happy to hear you writing as such. Oh uh, or else, I hope Brent's account didn't get hacked by a real conservative!
I’m neither liberal or conservative and feel both sides have some good ideas. I like to look at the individual issues and make a decision on it alone, not what some group wants me to think. I am ok with some welfare, for the sick and truly needy, just not the long term handouts for multi generational families that are able bodied.
