The history of the Alaskan Roadhouse system is quite unique and extremely interesting. We visited the Sullivan Roadhouse in Delta Junction. The roadhouse history reminds me of the stagecoach stops of the Old West.

Just below my property was once a famous roadhouse. Below is the only picture I could find of it after many hours of searching the web. Like many roadhouses, fire took it away in the early 1960s. I suppose I should get a book that chronicles the Alaskan roadhouses of old. There are a couple good ones out of print. Such great history and stories now mostly lost.
