Do any of you remember Plato's Republic?

I have not read it in a couple decades, but I think I remember Plato saying that democracy inevitably dissolves because the people get complacent
and thus allow bureaucrats/tyrants to take over.

Sound like the USA?

He also says that the ultimate form of government is rule by a benevolent dictator. He had in mind a philosopher-king,
but in my opinion, the one and only benevolent dictator history will ever know will be Jesus. Maranatha!
