Hey folks,

The future looks a little brighter than the alternative today. Anyway, I'm starting (so late) to store food and bought a bunch of 5 gallon food grade number 2 buckets today from Walmart. Unfortunately they didn't have air-tight lids. Does anybody know where to find those? Ideally ones that match these buckets? I'd order them somewhere if anybody can point me in the right direction.

Looking forward to reading lots on this site

Airtight lids are great, but seal with clear silicone caulking after closing.

Also, store grains (like rice) in mylar bags with oxygen eaters before putting in buckets.

The mylar bags seal with a clothes iron and a yardstick.

I've stored 80 lbs of rice, 40 lbs of soybeans, and 40 lbs of pinto beans this way.

It seems to work well.
