60s Civil Defense Fallout Shelter FAK list

Here is a list I have for a 1968 Civil Defense Fallout Shelter First Aid Kit, retyped from microfiche sometime back, they had the iodine (32oz liquid) in the sanitation list/box and checking CD and Army packaging they include the iodine with the sanitation supplies and not with the first aid. Also note, the CD requirements during the height of the cold war the shelters was stocked for two weeks, during that time they recommended 1qt of water per person per day, the rations was 700 calories per person per day. How times have changed!

one heck of many different tablets for a two week stay.
with 700 calories,you don't do much other that lay still...

ya, 700 calories a day, you couldn't even exercise, lot of folks perhaps don't realize stress and anxiety burns a lot of energy and when mom and kids are involved 700 calories just won't cut it

yeah.im thinking.at least 2000 to 3000 a day. especially when going cross country on foot..
