We had those when I was a kid.
Had I known they were worth $55 I'd kept a few.

Mom probably got them at Ben Franklin for 69 cents.

Sort of funny, my folks were suckers for any kind of traveling salesman. Mom would buy avon and tupperware products, usually from a relative. Dad would buy vacuum cleaners. These two people, normally "tight fisted with money", would buy almost anything if it drove up in the yard. It never made sense to me, so out of character.

Dad is still has a weakness for vacuum cleaners. Couple years ago when I put carpet down in my bedroom I started online shopping for a vacuum cleaner. In the mean time I borrowed one of dads, yes, plural. He had 5 working vacuum cleaners in the house. 2 he'd put back in their original boxes so he wouldn't lose the attachments. There was a 6th one out in storage building by the garage. All I could do was walk away laughing...

I keep a set of the small ones in my boat. Hard-boiled eggs need salt and pepper.

Around here it's constant Tupperware parties and Essential Oil Parties, and some herbal remedy party. Next door had a huge Tupperware party for a wedding shower for a young woman. Wedding showers around here are pretty tame.

My grampa smoked a pipe , and always had that exact ashtray sitting beside his chair.
