Look behind you in that dark corner.
Covid is still beating on the door, Canada is in full revolt, yeah, let that sink in! Ours will pick back up any day now, our government is as incompetent as it gets, weapon grade Smallpox is in the middle east, another Vid-variant is just around the corner, prices of EVERYTHING are spiking, ammo is rare and expensive, gasoline is insane, diesel ditto, storm season is coming, Black plague is popping up here and there, violence is sweeping the world as the Helter Skelter gathers steam up to the ultimate tribulation era and race tension is at an all time high, so I got to ask you:
Do you know where your towel and toothpaste are?
Where are your pet/livestock meds?
How much food do you have for your animals?
Can you reload and repair your firearms?
Are you up to date on your medical training?
How many little things are going to make you miserable/dead because you overlooked them?
did you buy salt and pepper? hand soap? feminine needs? Male needs? vitamins? TP?
extra clothing? will you die over an infected cut? how's your kid's nutritional needs?
do you have duct tape and sheet plastic/tarpaulins? this is a good time to stock up on the little things, fix stuff long overdue to be fixed and tie up loose ends.
get ready, it's about to break loose again! be it another stolen election or gas prices making life impossible, it's almost upon us!

Every day of normalcy we have at this point is a gift.

I just realized a couple of weeks ago that wearing insulated bibs outdoors in the winter is a total PIA if you're a female. If you have to pee, you have to take off your coat and then remove the bibs so-as not to pee on them. It's not that much of an issue if you have an actual toilet to use, but if not, it doesn't work well. I'm not outside all that much in the winter anymore so it's not something I even thought about. Since then, I got some new snow pants. If you're snowshoeing in the woods and need to pee, you won't freeze b/c you don't have to take off your coat to pop a squat. If need be, they might be a great prep item.

I have made some online orders that I wanted to make before spring. Almost all of it has already been delivered. Although, I'm always keeping my eyes open for bargains.

I talked to someone last night that I haven't seen in a long time and he was talking about the shortages and high prices of parts IF you can find them. He used to make some money on the side (retired guy) by fixing up damaged vehicles and he said he quit doing it b/c it just wasn't worth it anymore. He said he fears things are going to get much worse before things get better. I think a lot of folks are thinking that way these days.

I too think a revolt here is inevitable. I can't believe we're not there already, but it feels like the buildup is at our doorstep. I hope we're ready, but as I said, every day is a gift and provides an opportunity (to do) or get something that you didn't even know you needed. Full squirrel mode is the name of the game right now.

I was thinking about this today. How long have some of us been in these forums, talking about preparedness, and yet, I know that no matter how hard we have been at it, we will still have holes in our preps. Life happens, and it has its affect on all of us, some more than others. How many of us keep working on goal setting and preparing, no matter how little we are able to and will never totally be there!

I think of prepping as a lifestyle. It is just something I do all the time. It is in the forefront of my consciousness. Sure, there are some holes, but for the most part it isn't because I haven't thought about it. Time or finances may prevent me from doing some things, but the most important ones are reviewed daily.

It is definately a lifestyle!

One aspect of prepping I value in myself and others is flexibility. The ability to adapt and perhaps change some basic beliefs when called upon to.
I also tend to stock things mechanically that have wide ranging applications.
Like instead of stocking gasket sets for engines I can store various thicknesses of gasket paper and sealer, metal straps and angle iron and multiple hacksaws with ample high quality blades.

Anyone test their systems yet? I have a challenge, I've done it so it's nothing too bad. I have an edge being solo however.
Figure out how much you can eat in ten days, what it will take to prepare it, what tools you might need, simple things.
How much water you will need, then lock yourself away for ten days and see what comes up.

Sounds like you would make a good hurricaner. Move down here with us!:huggs:
We got warm weather too!.
Our last 'live-test' went well.:) Only thing that surprised us was cat litter.
Everything else worked like a charm:D.

There is a device available for women so they can pee without dropping trouser and you can stand up while doing it. I saw a YouTube video made by a female fighter pilot and she demonstrated how she goes while strapped in a jet. She was fully dressed during the video.
No idea why YouTube AI suggest things like that but there it was.

It was posted here on this site, just do not remember the thread.
