I had a dog that's looks exactly like that named goober years ago, good bird dog.

Grew up with dogs and cats, can't live without them. Our last dog was poisoned and it took a week of doctors and shots and lab work to find out she would not survive and had to put her down in the kitchen since she did not like the doctors office and we did not want her to die there. :( She learned to understand Hungarian from my wife, English from me and German from the kids and friends. She would do what any friend of the family said, she was not fixed on any certain person and would just obey like a five year old child. Terrible loss for us all, but especially for my wife as we got Leica during and after her fight with cancer which kept her from being alone at home, got her out of the house again and helped her to keep up her sense of humor, meet some new "other" dog owners and recover faster I think.... Great loss, Gary

I love dogs and cats but I am tired of out living them. I have lost too many dear pets in the past. We don't have any pets now and no plans to get any in the future.
With us, we're of an age (72/75) that if we were to get another dog (ours passed away in Oct) it would very likely outlive US. That worries me even more, so we, too, aren't planning on any more dogs unless societal circumstances force us to do so for guard dog/cabin security.............. It would have to be an adoption dog of around 5+ years of age to even consider doing so in that scenario.

Ours was a rescue, well her mum was rescued from a puppy farm and she was pregnant at the time. I had a lurcher rescue about 15 years ago, she had so much love to give. You’ve just lost yours so it’s still raw but you’re definitely not too old, you can also foster so the dogs home is responsible for any medical care.

We also have agreed that we will not get any more dogs once the 4 we have pass on. We too are at that same age. We have talked about maybe fostering dogs for the humane society until they find homes for them or possibly helping with elderly dogs as they are very hard to adopt out .

Rescues are the best. When I lost Cooper 2 yrs. ago I swore I would not get another , that lasted 30 days . When I was searching for another I was told I couldn't get another dog because I was over 65  Went through a private rescue , no problem . It shouldn't matter how old you are , just get an older dog. in the past 70 yrs. theres been many dogs I've lost and each time I said never again .

I visited IMGUR tonight and saw this video of a rat terrier. They are such nutty dogs I just love ratties. Mine made us LOL every single day with her antics, right up to age 16! Thought I'd share someone on Imgur's vid for a chuckle:

This was our little "Button"

Bloodhounds! I have a pair named Bocephus and Waylon. Bo is the Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. I walk them on a Y-leash on a nearby skate path and boy do I get the looks. People think I'm tracking fugitives. Bo was a Rescue (ex-cadaver dog in Hillsborough County (Tampa FL). We thought he needed a friend so we purchased Waylon from a breeder in Plant City, FL. Great dogs, but very high maintenance if you allow them into the house.

Dogo Argentino is the breed, that boy is protective of me when we stroll in the woods here, met some stranger on the dirt road and he stopped and never let the stranger from his eyes before the road took a sharp turn..
