So I was talking gardens with a customer the other day and he was telling me about Pecos Cantaloupe and how it was the best ever and he couldn't find seed for it anymore so he was going to save a lot back from this years crop. I'd never heard of it but told him I'm interested in it and asked if he'd sell/give me some seeds next spring. Well today he came in and gave me an old pill bottle with some of his prized seeds! Now I guess I "have" to build another garden bed this week...whoops lol

Long story short, anyone heard of it? Any tips for growing cantaloupe? I've done watermelon before but never cantaloupe

The seeds are available on-line and from seed suppliers. They need full sun and water.

I read an article a while ago, in my "Melon Phase" :p. something about the soil and water in the area gave them a different character/taste. Goggle can probably fill you in, the details have disappeared from my filing system.
