Yes and yes. A bit dramatic but, entertaining.I'm seeing Yellowstone series on tv showing up..anybody watch it? If so, is it worth getting into watching? At least decent entertainment?
Never heard of it.
Huh?I personally like 1883 with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw even better! It is the Dutton family back story of how they got the Yellowstone ranch.
Thanks for that info..I will check it out...never heard of it before! Boy am I behind the times!
I like the series. It makes me think about life here.
My wife despises Kevin Costner and won’t watch it after inaccuracies in the first 5 minutes of season 1 episode 1. It is not how you put a horse down.
Me too.I personally like 1883 with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw even better! It is the Dutton family back story of how they got the Yellowstone ranch.
Way off the topic-but interesting to Winchester. How William Winchester’s wife Sarah dealt with the deaths from his repeating firearm.Me too.
Some interesting (to me, anyhow) trivia about the show 1883. James Dutton carries a rifle that appears to be a Winchester model 1885. (which would be anachronistic if it is)
However, John Browning designed the rifle in 1878, and Browning made 600 "Model 1878s" in his father's gunsmithing shop in Odgen Utah, before Winchester bought the rights to it in 1883 (but didn't produce them until 1885). So there is a remote possibility that what he was carrying was a Browning model 1878, which would not be anachronistic. I was hoping for some kind of clue in the series which it was, but never saw one.
The reason that caught my eye is because I have modern reproductions of the gun, a Browning "B78" named after the model 1878, and two 1885s.
