Where do get your (mis)information from? That's not true. I've been in "American" industry my entire life, up to executive VP position. There are countless jobs available throughout our country; for construction, equipment operators, welders, mechanics, truck drivers, pipefitters, machinists, and all other trades. You really should quit listening to the failures and sad sacks and open your eyes. Anyone that wants a job can get a job. It might require moving to where the jobs are instead of crying about no jobs 2 miles away.

Ya get what ya pay for. Buy China junk and you end up with junk. We don't own a toaster, we use the wood stove for making toast, but there are a number of toasters made in the US. Of course they will be a little more expensive because of quality, plus we don't use slave labor like China does.
What do they pay?
Even a non skilled job pay $15-$20 per hour plus benefits now days. Skilled jobs just go up from there. If you have the skills to work overseas I bet you could get an expat job in China. I worked for a Chinese company in Afghanistan for a couple years. Also worked in Russia, Kazakhstan and others. Good high paying jobs. You just need the skills and be willing to be away from home for anywhere from 6 months to 2 years at a time.
A person can survive ok on $20/hr where I live, but you can also rent a decent 2 bedroom apartment for 800-900 bucks if you're willing to live in smaller towns 50 miles from the larger cities. You definitely won't live high on $20/hr though. Hell, my daughter started at $14/hr at McDonald's 2 years ago and makes $15 now. That's over 3 times what it paid when I was her age.
Couldn't you have been doing those high paying jobs in the US?
Absolutely. I worked in the oil fields in the lower 48 and Alaska. Depending on location my entry level laborers made $35 per hour, 10 years ago. Welders made up to $85 per hour, all with 44 hours per week overtime, 6 months vacation and room and board.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Besides, my only concern is myself, friends and family. Over the years all of my family and many friends all worked in the areas that were under my areas of authority, and on 3 different continents. Most people loved the 6 months vacation with a 12 month paycheck. My wife retired from the oil field after 14 years because of the China flu scam. Her employer wanted her (all employees) the wear the face diaper and to take the government BS shot. Of course she refused.

amen to that...i know of 100's of jobs gone at multiple places in my area...its not they are gone...they are gone and buildings,equipment and everything is gone.
iran has been taking delivery of missile defense systems from russia....they also still have a fleet of f-16 from us still operational and they just done a deal for 70 new fighter/bombers from russia....i seen evidence that probably the first of them were just delivered in the last few days.
same here. lumber mills, panel mills, gear and bearing plants and many others.
Our lumber mills are all doing great. Some even have permanent Help Wanted signs up. My SIL works at at mill and he's been getting a ton of overtime.
This is a result of the thousands that are gone.
