I wonder if that woman is even a real farmer.

The way I see it: if New Zealand lamb is tariffed, we can sell ours for more.

If no food is shipped to third world countries paid for by US tax $, maybe they won't reproduce like rats, and try to come across the border here

if farmers grow more of a certain type of thing than they can sell, they need to diversify. You know where a lot ( most ) of food cost is coming from ? Processing! Our biggest expense is the meat processing . It is half of what the animal would sell for at a livestock auction. But our local meat processing does not have a single illegal employed. They sometimes run out of people when someone gets sick ( covid was bad) and have to cancel an appointment but they don't have illegals

Another plus of food prices going up: maybe people will by more food that is not ultra processed. A large bag of carrots costs about the same as a large bag of chips, but you can make way more meals from it. People eat way too many calories here anyway, and maybe if chips go up even more they will eat less. Then health insurance will cost less since there is less fat and sick people. Plus if the welfare people have to get off their butts and get a physical labor job, it will be good for them too and they might be more healthy

As long as Trump can follow through and the Swamp doesn';t stop him somehow, there are SOOOO many of them working against him

Relish everything, the good and bad, and just be friend. Besides, hate is the only pure thing we have left as humans. most of us need a reason to love something, and most of the time they're the wrong reasons, but hate is pure! you can hate someone or something for no reason whatsoever. ron paul got the farmers in his area stop getting various hand outs back in the day and according to farm journal they all made more money in long run...i forget details its been long time now.

i am for farmers...but some of these hand outs go to mega corps...in fact majority it was shown just a few years ago shown in farm reports etc.

Winter wheat is in the ground right now and won't be harvested for a few months. After that, what is planted is what the market needs. That's how it works. Sorghum? do you know how hard it is to find quality molasses here in the South where it used to be king? even with 1800's technology they could make at least three healthy sweeteners. hog feed and liquor from the same crop and its by-products. the only real quality sorghum sugar comes out of Mexico these days and you have to grind it yourself!

at the start of russia/ukraine was a ship was hit in ocean....mine...slightly damaged...had to limp to a port....it was operated or leased by cargill....it was getting grain....i looked ito it...cargill operates in ukraine getting 1,000 of hectres of grain....from what i read...they farm and buy grain....they are based in minnesota....dubbed a family farm at one time....lol

you dive into that mess involving john deere,mega corps like monsanto/bayer and much more...loans where going to be made for equipment,seed,fertilizer and more....one stipulation of imf loans...gmo ban on products had to be lifted.

i tell yall a story...i know this first hand from a friend...there was a church group wanted to feed the poor and hungry in africa....they wanted to feed them chicken...so they handed out free chicken....they done this for about 2.5 years till the money ran out....well during that time a local black african got a loan to build chicken houses and started raising chickens to butcher...his product got ready about the first time the free chickens arrived....those free chickens made it so no one bought his chickens so he bankrupted....fast forward to end of the free handouts...guy was gone and so was free chickens and there was no chickens in area to be bought.....see what some meddling will do...

if i can find it i will show you the story of tomatoes in africa and a beautiful factory got shut down by west by flooding market with free tomato products.

just watched first 5 minutes



springboarding off this..in my area there was going to be a small factory built for local farmers to do value added products. it was going to be a place with a small hand full of employees to can and jar local products and put custom labels for each farm to have to sale or factory to sale.there was grant money approved but local county board refused to allow and county had to give a million or 2 million in funding to get rest of the money grant for it...county refused .this was started by local county representative....they just didnt want it here.if this had got built and done i feel sure they would have gotten a butchering factory eventual y too.

we use to have small canning facilities in my area for home canning on industrial levels for all residents. you could do jars and cans there. most are gone now but a few still operate.
