is there a device like the little music players people use for tunes so its portable..can that device even be used for audio books as well as tunes?

where do you get audios at besides amazon?

educate a simple simon please.

I've listened to a few free classics on Spotify when I was travelling on buses, but as a rule I don't like audio books that much. I needed to get through a few recently for college though; so joined amazon to get the free month. There's a site called Internet Archive I use for pdf books, they I think, have audio also for free. Also 'Borrowbox' which is linked to our library, and 'Libby' app, which again is linked to Libraries. I guess most MP3 players will handle audio books.

Audio books, no. But I do like the old classic radio shows. I listen to them while doing other stuff. Yes I listen to them on my computer but I do have a little player that I can copy files which I got when I used to walk every day. Using a computer you just download the files, pop the earbuds in your ears & push play. I bought both the old time radio shows & players on Amazon & I think the shows were something like $150 & the player was 35 dollars, something like that. Hope that answers your question about a player.

If anyone like's the old time radio shows I do recommend something like I bought. I've had them for years & haven't listened to 10 percent of them yet. That's a lot of entertainment for a very reasonable price.

is it a mp 3 or mp4 player or what? do you have a link or title for shows and player you use and bought?

You can get audio books at the library!! I don't do audio books, but several people I know use them, they listen on their CD players. That's all I know!!🙃
what i am really looking at is some type of device that i can download to from computer or plug in a usb with books on that i store them on if thats possible...see i dont even know enough to ask proper questions really...for now all i do is listen to audio books from youtube..want to expand my knowledge and ability to have books even if in audio form.

i do know people use to have players on hip for music but seems most use phone for everything now...i guess you can get plud in ear phones or bluetooth ear buds even now....from what i seen folks hiking the AT anyway talking about they use at times during hike.

really dont want to deal with cd's.

I used to love audio books when I traveled. I remember one time I literally slowed down after a 15 hour drive because I was afraid I'd get to my uncle's house before the book ended.. lol. I listen to podcasts mostly now.. while I work, or when I'm winding down in the evening. I usuallly have my laptop up wtih something playing while doing housework etc. When I'm outside doing chores, I prefer to hear the birds, and the chickens, and the horses,.. yes, and even the neighbor's tractor or their kids playing in their pool..

i use a kindle for ebooks and have a fire tanblet for back up. it works very well and use one every day. i load up on books i lke in various catagories from bible, history, recipes, herbal meds, how to stuff, some favorite authors, fiction, etc. for me its kinda critical cause i just cant read books anymore. tough on someone who was always a book addict.

i download from amazon , works good for me. i got arund 1200 books saved so far. taxt to speech stuff is a huge help.

I think (?) this is the guy that I ordered the shows from:

Old Time Radio Library: 95,000 Shows in MP3 on a Portable 1TB Hard Disk

Type that in & you will see him. At the time he suggested an MP3 player & that's the one that I bought. Sorry but I don't know enough about MP3 players to suggest one.

When I changed my car I was left with no CD player, so son put my music on a usb stick for the car. You can do the same with books. Amazon have MP3 players that 'do' books.

I would recommend one with a screen personally. But saying that I had two cheap ones for years originally bought for the children (one in a handbag, one in a hiking jacket ) the size of a bic lighter for years that were great.

Got my first literary work being released as I write this. Audio, E's...print...and (hopefully) the screen, too!

I used to listen to them in the car when I was a road warrior. The downside, as Texas Charm mentioned, was your journey or ride would end before the book did. One time I drove around for half an hour after I got home, so I could hear the end of the book. I always enjoyed them, but I no longer have a need.
