Austin City Council passed a resolution on Thursday, July 9, 2020, which states that anyone caught not wearing a face mask in public has the potential to be fined up to $2,000. It’s the strictest enforcement measure to date with respect to the statewide mask order issued by Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Thursday, July 2, 2020. In addition, the council passed a related measure which could lead to civil action against Austin job sites or businesses that violate the minimum health standards for pandemic mitigation, such as failing to require six feet of distancing between those in groups of 10 or more, or failing to have their employees wear face masks on the job. Both of these council agenda items passed unanimously.

Good luck getting anyone to pay that fine. Austin is a marxists city.
As far left as you can go in this state, but the metro areas are following. . . . It is very sad to see. even though it hasnt trickled down to my area. I may have to move one day and that bring so many issues up, especially due to age. Are we able to round up all the cattle? That would be my main concern. I have no issues gathering my goats or any other animal here. The pigs may be close to 700 lbs but they are even managable. I have talked to my sweet hunny about his cattle before. . . he is creeping up in age and I am not wanting to have to deal with them alone, but will if have to. My biggest consern is no longer his pet bull since he has chilled out in his old age. He does have a girl and a boy that seem to get in the way when I am trying to get things done out there. Id rather them keep to themselves and I do the same. Other than my milk cow I normally dont deal with them but since he has had all his surgeries and recovery time, it has woken my butt up!

I do have to vote for very small critters. Even goat size can get a senior hurt. My plan is for nothing bigger that a rabbit. Okay, maybe small pigs, that stay small. 300 pound pigs would be a NO-GO for me. JM2C

OK, I have to say it...I am jealous of your milk cow! Wanted one for some years now. Took care of one from a young age until I left home. Actually gave up all milk after that because I can’t stand processed milk. Do you make cheese?

Ok, what I don't get is this - the virus is real, it's infecting over 3 million in the US alone, killing tens of thousands, and people are whinging about being told to wear a mask, claiming some right of freedom.

Why wouldn't you wear a mask if it was going to give you even a slight bit of protection? What if you catch the virus, then give it to a loved one, and they in turn die??

I just don't get why someone would put their "rights" before their and others safety.

For me, its because my chances of getting the virus, even without a mask is very low. If I did get it, I and everyone else in my family and that I know that gets it, can take chlorine dioxide, which has cured every person, in the thousands that has used it. Not one person that has used chlorine dioxide to cure the virus has had the disease progress further or died. For the ignorant masses, they masks improve there chances of not getting infected and reduces the viral load of what they are exposed to.

What I don't get is why you care if someone wears one or not. I don't give a crap if someone wants to look silly and strap a kotex on their face. And yes, there is nothing more important in a free country than our Rights.
And if you remember these same so-called experts said that masks were only to be worn by trained medical "professionals". The general public is too stupid to wear a mask properly. Their words not mine. So I am following the advice of the "experts" by not wearing one.

Personally, I don't care if you do or not.
It's just that being from another country, and not being fully immersed in your culture/rights etc, from the outside looking in it's confusing.
