Australia is the driest continent on Earth and during the GSM our continent gets dryer still.
Water desalination will save us.
Even those townships inland will benefit from water desalination because their ground water
is extremely salty and mineral laden.
I have been researching low tech solar stills that desalinate water without the use of electricity or power of any sort.
They look like giant solar panels that are angled towards sun.
I instantly saw the potential of these desalinating panels and pictured them lined up in massive ranks like solar farms.

According to these people brine is a problem, hogwash. The brine mixes with the salt water in short order. Nature hates disparity and the salt/ water are working towards equalisation. Billions of gallons of fresh water enter the oceans daily yet they don't cause a problem.

Fresh water is a problem but some places won't allow you to collect rain water or make small dams or ponds. CA dumps water into the ocean at night rather than to store it for humans in the reservoirs. Half of CA water problems are caused by the environmentalists. A friend of mine was one of the main engineers on the CA Aquaduct. People keep moving int the state.
