CB / Ham radio question

I put this in GENERAL cos i'm hoping more folks may be able to answer a couple of question

1 On 10 and 11 meter (CB and HAM ) if I have a wire di-pole antenna which way is best to mount it , Horizontally or Vertically ?

2 if Verticle can i secure it to the roof guttering down pipe ( plastic) of my house to keep it concealed

I need an antenna for 10 and 11 meter AM / FM/ SSB that is concealable ?

I would think horizontally as high as you can. In like a 30 degree V position. I'm not an experienced Ham operator, so there is likely better information you can get.
