I didn't see any ads. :( Normally, that would be a happy face for me :) but in this case I wanted to see them. Oh well. I have installed so many script and ad blockers over the years that I wouldn't remember how to turn them off now.

So I will await your after Christmas jar opener review!

Ads keep changing.

If you have searched for anything online, and sometimes haven't even done a search nor spoke about it, just thought about it, ads will come up for what you are interested in.
 
gave forst grankid his tool box gift. he was one i thought would not be interested but he Loved it. pulled out every socket, pliers, wrench, screwdriver and LOVED it all saying hey i can user this for abc or xyz, then opened another drward to see the itmes and there, pulled out and played with each one excitedly. thanks me several times.

and that was before he found the $50 i stuck in there. kinda just goes to show ya--cant trust our assumptions about others.
it was a real nice day.

I have two pair very similar to those, I use them a lot!
 
We have some of those fancy-type kitchen shears too. I don't use them all that much, but at least several times a week. I like the ones that come apart for cleaning. That is a great improvement over the non-disassemble ones. I can't imagine taking a pair apart and use the two halves as knives though, like the video shows. It's too much fun to use a sharp quality knife for slicing. Slicing a tomato with half of a pair of scissors? Might as well hit it with a Sledge-O-Matic, Gallagher style.
 
I'm known for unusual gifts, not always a hit but definitely different. This was a hit, little vials of gold. I'd spent the fall gold prospecting and didn't have time to shop so...

Everyone got a little vial of gold for christmas. I tied a tiny ribbon around each...

Tis' getting to be the season again. If I order something online, sometimes the prices are better BEFORE November when places like Amazon will inflate prices only to 'deflate' them to normal prices for the holidays. :rolleyes:

I have a friend that likes to read, so I bought her a neck light that I use myself. They go boating often and I thought it would be handy for her to use on the boat so she can read while her hubby sleeps. I also saw a combo inflator/jump starter pack that I bought for one kid and also got one for hubby (and myself) to put in the side by side. They are pretty cheap at around $50 and would be nice for anyone to have in their vehicle. I still love the milwaukee inflator, but these are much smaller and also have the jumper.

I got hubby some milwaukee spotlights and extra batteries to use for outdoor activities (like cornhole) and also for when he goes rural fishing and has to clean fish or cook in the evening to light a larger area. They are super bright and could be utilized to light the barn if power goes out.

I'm still looking for other ideas.....keep em' coming.:thumbs:

That is a great price for them. They come 4 to an order, currently $24.49 for one order.

Sorry, I just went down a rabbit hole and began thinking that I need a fire extinguishing station in my kitchen especially, even though I've never had a fire there.

Now I'm thinking about how I could store them next to or with the fire extinguisher, another potential gift that is really important item for the kitchen, garage, shop and even the car.

Since baking soda can be used for fire extinguishing, how to make sure that we have a large group of it, instead of the small box, to also help extinguish a fire.
 
OK, this one may seem a bit off but I may also do moving blankets.
They're tough and pretty damn warm. Give them to people to keep in their cars for emergency blanket in the winter, lay it on the ground to do tire maintenance or whatever.
For personal use in the winter, if it's going to get really cold (0° to -20°), I use them to cover large windows in the house. Just thumb tack them to the wood trim.
 
Does anyone else like getting the same or similar gifts every year, especially when the item(s) is disposable? One that I really like is combo pack of Old Spice products. My wife gave me one a few years back, and now I am disappointed if I don't get it again. I use and like all of the products. So much so that when I saw Wal Mart had it on sale I bought one. When I got home, I gave it to my wife and said "Here. You can give this to me for Christmas." It was only about $15.00, and if you bought the products individually it would have cost twice as much. Nice to get a good deal on something you like.

The Wal Mart close to me has had fleece blankets on sale for about $3.50 each. We need more blankets like a turtle needs a brassiere, but who can pass that up? Get some for the kids or grandkids. They have every color and design imaginable. I have added some to our cars and BOB's.

When we were kids, Old Spice was what we gave my dad for Christmas.

Fleece blankets? I haven't checked out the ones that WM has currently, but when it comes to fleece, there are widely varying qualities.

I have a client who has been very good to me over the 6 years that I have worked for her. She gives me really nice gifts. One year she gave me a heated lap blanket. I use it! Of course, it has dogs on it. Last year she gave me really nice flannel sheets with dogs on them. I have had many flannel sheets over the years, and I do have 3 sets that are very high quality, but a few years old. The flannel sheets client gave me are really nice and much more comfortable that the other ones that I have.
 
I just bought one of those small fleece $3.99 ones at Walmart with dogs on it for Rowdy. It's soft for his bed, and so far he's only chewed the tag off it. He chewed up a pricey bed a few months ago, so that is not good.
Last Christmas was awful...didn't plan many gifts at all, husband in the hospital. But thankfully I did pick up earlier a Sunbeam heated fleece blanket for husband, and that's his favorite. He uses it when he's on his recliner, he loves it. The best $25 I spent in awhile.

I got one also.. This from the thrift store on senior discount day.. A bit bigger than a lap blanket but not quite a twin size.. It is very heavy for what it is and has a picture of a running mustang horse on it.. Also have one for napping in the recliner with a golden retriever picture..
 
Had to go to Wmart today so picked up a couple things. Decided the “kids” (all in their twenties) are getting car-kits for Christmas this year. All drive for work. Think my son drives the least and that’s about 20 minutes. Youngest niece fights fire so drives all over, but I think my mid-month will be attending pilot school. Anyhoo, got silver blankets, hand warmers, bic lighters, little flashlights, etc.
