it is interesting but,,,
wishful thinking I’m afraid , but I do like how you think. Can they be aimed at DC?
Where ever all the politicians hang out. Nothing personal against you or Jason, just the craziest. Is it EST or PST? Maybe I shouldn’t bother feeding tonight. Thanks AcDoc.
It does when it comes to radio communications...Fortunately, no matter what, flares do not have a significant effect on us here on Earth.
Ah. Science. How refreshing. It does when it comes to radio communications...
" Other solar activity of concern to HF operators are solar flares and coronal holes, which emit protons. Since the charged ions in the ionosphere are negative, a blast of protons from the sun can neutralize the charge and make the ionosphere less refractive. These waves of protons can be so intense that they may trigger an event called a geomagnetic storm. In addition, energy from a solar flare may energize the D-layer of the ionosphere, which absorbs radio waves."

Can a coronal mass ejection destroy the Earth?
As far as I can find, the answer is no. For perspective, the flare that caused the Carrington Event, produced an aurora that could be seen as far south as Cuba, vs this one being seen in Pennsylvania.
I'll take my chances. People been predicting the end of the earth since before JC was a kid.
Really? Maybe I'm not really here either. But it feels like I'm sitting in my truck on main street drinking a beer while the wife is in a book store. It hit last night. I'm still here, or maybe I'm really not and it's a Lost kind of thing.
