i just saw a blurb on the news of a 7.3 earthquake in Japan. It was near Fukushima and they are expecting a tsunami. I just wanted a place to post interesting current events so started this thread. I'll post more as we learn it on this quake.

I'm seeing 3 ft max waves now. I think the news was over sensationalizing it again.
10' was reported but reduced it to 5' so I begin to monitor the sea level station monitoring facility (Ofunato) near Fukushima at http://www.ioc-sealevelmonitoring.org/station.php?code=ofun
