Old Pearl got up at 4am!! Got some laundry done! Little critters are fed, Buddy has to wait until daylight! Enjoying coffee right now, and everyone's after my bedtime posts!😃 Regular work day. Some extras at this job today, will cover outside faucets and move some plants into this lady's garage from her back patio! I'll bring some firewood in this afternoon and burn a test fire in the wood stove. Next week looks down right cold for this neck of the woods!

Today I have 1 more planter to put together. Not to hard IF you don't follow the directions & just use common sense. I also had to put them together on tables because all that bending was killing my back. I've got another idea on a display in one of the cabinets but that requires moving a shelf up & I'm sure that I won't be able to do that after the planter.

We have a guest staying for a while. A friend of my wife's who has had LOTS of bad luck. Lost her job, got another, car wreck (not her fault). Some health problems & the biggest problem.....Her mother (who is an abusive nut) talked her into moving back home & then threw her out (after about 2 weeks). So she is staying here until she gets a few paychecks under her belt. Sad story. My wife & another friend told her not to move back home because they saw that it wouldn't end well. Another example of emotions (mother begged her to move back in) overriding logic. I'm sure that there will be more drama in the future.

we got up at 6 am and took care of the animals early since we wanted to put the sheep in the barn. It's now pouring outside and has been for a while, miserable cold and wet out. But we need the rain. Sheep were dry, they all somehow squeezed themselves into the little shelter . But now in the barn where there is more room. We got every available space in the barn filled up now.

Now I am baking bread, experiment, added various seeds to my standard oatmeal bread. We'll see how it turns out

Not much else planned today

I woke up too early, so I went back to sleep but had a wacky dream.
Anyways, I took some time off so I can do appointments n just have some extra time too.
Yesterday, I started by taking the pups for a walk, then store run. Got the dog food started, got caught up on a few weeks of newspapers n whatnot. Listened to the wind n just enjoyed a quiet night for a bit.
Today, finish dog food, laundry, pup walk, Dr apt, chores again n whatever I feel like.
I need to make a list..I do have some important stuff to do but I forget if I don't refer to my to do list.

Off to the big city around noon. Got a bag packed and gear ready last night. The calf is set for a couple days, has plenty of hay, just have to top off his water tub and give him some sweet feed. Debating whether to take my lapttop... decisions decisions. Need more caffeine! 😁

Yesterday was running around town half the day with my friend.

Today, already walked.
Waiting for DH to be ready to walk dogs.
Will do some ebay drafts.
Change shower curtain to Christmas shower curtain--that's the other room besides the office that I can decorate. Only other room that blasted cat can't come into.
Bible study this evening.

Tuesday when we looked at vehicles, I drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. It's a little bigger and longer than a regular Cherokee. Definitely could get out of it's own way! We will look some more next Wednesday in another town.

must be wake up early thursday, I woke up almost 4 hours ago, had a couple of coffee, it's daylight, so maybe, get something done.

Went out to feed this morning and saw that we had 2 owls in the small chicken run. I grabbed my rifle and went up to the coop. One of the owls managed to get out through the wire, the other one was injured and couldn't fly. I couldn't shoot it so I opened the gate and chased it out. All of the ducks and chickens are fine.

Animals chores this morning, boy was it frosty outside. Has warmed up to 62 now. More IV meds delivered, the driver is now buddy with the pup, he's coming often. Husband doesn't look so gray this morning, so this different antibiotic is kicking in. I must have given him an infusion at 3:30, quite a blur. Ha. So now we're on an 830 am 2:30 pm 830 pm and 2:30 am schedule. That's a bit better, I think. Going to go fill a cart at Aldi in a bit.

Worked too hard!! Made extra money, but I'm pooped out!! Having a couple of beers, feeding and messing with the critters and coming inside early this evening!! Hubby has an overloaded work day too! Plumbing job in an old building and look at an older lady's dryer. I already know it's the heating element, but he'll double check and get a new one ordered and replace it when it arrives!! I see 9 pm bed time happening!🛌😉

When the snow melted in the chicken run this afternoon we found one dead hen. Dang owls.
When I was a kid we had poultry it had a tin roof and metal welded fence
And in Winter they had an inside shack with windows
( I was doing the clean up and put eggs in a basket bring in the house that was one of my job before to go school ) ;)
we never had more than 10 - 15 hens and 1 rooster

So I got to sleep last night and about 10:30-10:45 Hubby’s phone was ringing. Hubby slept right through it 🙄. I was awake for a couple hours. Looked this morning and it was a wrong number. Not anyone in his contacts and it was a FaceTime call. Buggers!
Today was two fire investigators and an adjuster. Now we wait some more 😒. I just want it all over with.
Otherwise we got the bacon sliced last night and today I got it all bagged and sealed. Hams will be next but have another week or so before we can work those.

Hope it all gets settled soon!! Hugs and prayers!!

@zannej The second i read that 1 page letter of demand this morning my gut instinct told me something was really off especially when said individual implicitly stated on same day the incident happened he'd send me his insurance details via email not this letter that has set off alarm bells at my insurance company when they received a copy of it from me this morning when I was on the phone to them

What makes it more frustrating is that he has pretty much yet to disclose insurance details and hasn't even bothered to contact RAA despite getting my policy number and insurer on the day it happened the way it's tracking this claim will most likely be approved and processed with him only walking away with repairs and myself another reconditioned vehicle

On the plus side my blood samples i got taken voluntarily on Thursday arvo at the hospital arrived at Forensics SA in Adelaide on Monday arvo so it won't be too much of a longer wait but the fact he has failed to provide me his insurance details still bugs the heck out of me
My memory sucks so I can't remember if you said whether or not the police came and made a report. I know they should have since you were injured. If they did you may be able to find the insurance info on the police report. You can probably call them and ask for that info and say the other driver has not shared that info with you or your insurance company yet. There were two wrecks wrecks I was in (caused by other drivers) where I had to get the insurance info from the police reports bc the drivers refused to give me their info.

Last night I discovered there was a massive leak under the sink. Couldn't get the nut to turn to adjust the pipes and bro couldn't do it either. Had to wait for friend to get off work to come out and fix it.

Just cooked for Mom and I'm waiting on the chicken soup my brother started to be finished. I just added the mushrooms a bit ago and they are soaking in. He didn't listen to the request to use less soy sauce and Mom hated it.

Back to late shift tonight after covering my co-worker's early arvo to early evening shift yesterday so back to relaxing pace rung up Forensics SA in Adelaide this morning yes they confirmed the same information I got 2 days ago about my voluntarily taken blood samples being received Monday but the office lady wasn't able to confirm if testing had been done yet or not except to keep an eye on my mail box for confirmation certificate

I read up the Product Disclosure Statement attached to my compo premium insurance it confirms that both parties will be looked after in terms of payment for repairs or settlement in my case pending if the replacement vehicle clause is on certificate of Insurance i'll get a refurbished second hand vehicle otherwise it will be a cash settlement on the payout which will allow me to purchase my selected vehicle and pay remainder off over so many months

@zannej yes police came out talked to me and other chap involved organized the towing in addition to breatho test, issuing police report cards and me a notification of incoming expiation notice, over here in Australia it is up to both parties to exchange insurance details on scene or afterwards i gave out my policy number and insurer to the other person and yet he hasn't disclosed any aside from that letter demanding said favorable outcome, hence why my insurer being RAA has flagged it due to other party's reluctance to provide their policy number and company in order for repairs if any is required to be undertaken so his vehicle can be operational again in shortest time possible

@LadyLocust i don't wanna compare my current predicament with yours as its entirely different but it sounds like you are having the same frustrating wanting it to be over and done with headache in terms of being to made wait for an outcome like I am as we've both got to wait for the assessor/adjuster to make their final determination before reaching the finish line

Waiting is stressful!

So much going on! Amish and Snappy I'm praying for your Husbands - and for you as Caregivers.
So sorry to hear of the fire, LL.
Zannej I'm glad the brakes didn't seize on you!

Big news here: my generator is hooked up! The frustrating, stressful drama that began last June is finally drawing to a close. I just have to finish laying the tracer wire and then backfill the trench and excavations we made to run the gas line, then patch the holes in the garage walls where we ran the pipe through. Electricians came today and worked in the rain to make all the connections and test it. Everything is fine and no one questioned the gas line work or asked to see a permit. Now if there is a power outage or a brown out - or a rolling black out, which I can see coming in the future - I will have power, and my home can be a refuge for friends and family during an extended outage. And as I get older I won't have to worry about dragging out and hooking up a portable version.

I need to learn how to NOT keep stoking up the woodstove. It's 73 degrees in here! Much too warm.

Opening day tomorrow. Not sure how early I'll go out but I do intend to spend some time in the blind. I'd really like to thin out the deer population a bit.
