DIY freeze dryer

I'm wondering if a standup chest freezer can be converted to a freeze dryer. Thoughts and info greatly appreciated.

You have to be able to pull a vacuum in the freezer.

It’d be tough. Other than the expense of a pump, I’d think it would be tough to seal up a freezer well enough.

Oh yeah, I just remembered, out freeze dryer drops the internal temp to -50F for about 9 hours before firing off the pump and the heaters under the trays.
