I am not sure who is supposed to be the outsider , but if it is me can say I was born in Mississippi and lived in Mississippi around 45 years . Very deep Mississippi ,south of Jackson . nearly all my relatives still live in Mississippi . I had the foresight to grab up my wife and young kids and leave when I saw the situation was only going to get worse . -- I am a very serious prepper and realized it wasn't a Nuclear war or something that my location was vulnerable to . No it was the people surrounding me that I would have to deal with when SHTF , that I saw was the Achillies heal . I quit my job , abandoned my paid for Mississippi home that I had built with my two hands and left to literally start carving out a new home with an axe as I had no heavy equipment nor chainsaw . Later I did rent a bobcat " for one day " and paid for some help with the carpentry .

The collapse has been going on for decades but over the last two years the speed of the descent has accelerated to a never before seen speed . I doubt even Venezuela's descent was the speed we are now witnessing in the United States .

--- All these parasites on society reminds me of the story I heard about ancient Tibet . At one point in their history there was so many people running to live in the monasteries , it put a huge financial strain on the real workers trying to support those behind the monastery walls . The situation got dire . --- Today workers are trying to support a growing tide of folks like depicted in the link . At some point it is not sustainable .
--- This is not another example of the collapsing United States , instead we have a warning being sounded from a professional accountant . This is not a " might " happen warning " but is a " is happening warning " . This might be interesting in the days ahead . It's a good thing we are prepped and ready . ---

No worries, the Europeans know this since Covid. Critical videos and links dissapear fast, it's an "greatfull service" of our governments to "protect" citizen from false way to think and "fake news"...

If it's where I think it is, now I completely understand...SHEESH! That area truly is awful, with hardly any redeeming qualities. I can see how that would make you jaded about Mississippi. But in my experience it is an aberration.
You have it figured relatively close , but I was rural with over 200 acers to roam . One day though I sat pondering on my door steps and made the life changing decision . All this stuff is just material possessions .; I locked the door and walked away from it all . As crazy as that seems I and my daughter that was a teenager when I made that decision , have both concluded that was one of the best decisions that I ever made in my lifetime . We moved to a survivalist oriented area and started our new life , bathing and getting our water from a creek . From those dirt poor beginning the lord blessed my obedience and we have prospered beyond our expectations .

Conformation of the above statement - Missing from the work force in the United States 7 million males of working age . Perhaps they could be found in the tents and under the tarps on the side of streets and under bridges .

I broke out the scrub board and wash tub from the stash and we used that to wash clothes last night . Our electric powered clothes washer stopped working . We could go buy another washer but for now we decided to put our funds elsewhere . Being prepared will likely benefit all the preppers that haunt this site as the economy continues its spiral into a realm never before seen .
So, the wokies decided they haven't been paying women (but they cannot even define a woman) fairly in the past, so they decided to give them a billion dollars in reparations. BUT, those reparations bankrupted the city, so the women won't get the money after all. Everyone suffers.... The liberal way.

word of mouth reaching me from more than one source of an increase in prostitution as desperation deepens . Are there similar observations from you guys ? -- I seldom venture very for from my retreat , so I can't give an eye account of this .

No need for me to post such links as we all are witnessing the collapse each time we go to a store or try to juggle paying bills and eating . Those that failed to prepare for SHTF are generally the ones suffering the most . Preppers for the most part can simply go into their food stockpile or utilize their renewable sources such as a garden . -- It will get much worse . Preppers need to be on alert as desperate people do desperate things .

America is still the land of the free but the illegals are using the wrong definition.
Unfortunately it isn't just the illegals. Free College loans...is right up there with the illegals. In some ways, I see the people who think the tax payer should pay for their college parties at over priced universities to get a degree so they can have a basket weaving career, are bigger pariahs than the illegals.
