My pups were born about this time 2 yrs ago. They were born under a homes deck in Brady, Texas , and the mother abandoned the litter. All were rescued in early Feb 2023. The rescuer claims they were about 6-7 weeks old at that time. All survived and were adopted. We were only going to adopt one of them (the female), but when we saw the male, we decided we had to have him as well. So we suffer through "litter-mate syndrome" as a result. The two of them are voraciously competitive, but also incredibly loving toward each other. They look a bit different, yet details are very similar. 95% of their DNA is identical:
Australian Cattle Dog / Miniature American Shepherd / Siberian Husky / Chihuahua / Australian Shepherd / Chow Chow / Shar Pei / American Pit Bull.

So Happy Birthday Luna and Chess (2 yrs old)

These pics are the best I have on this pc.

The Jack & mix rescue that at the time was about 1.5 yo about 12 years ago, I was testing them to see if they would get along before bringing him home. They became best buds.

The other pic is from over a year ago just before he got real sick. They are all 'smiling' in the pic, mainly because the brown male pit has 1 brain cell that latches onto any kind of light, shadows and/or movement and had been chasing the phones camera light reflection on the wall. The black female of course had to chase him, and the old dog had to chase the youngins to keep them in line........It took several treat bribes to get them all to settle down long enough to take the pic.

You have your hands full - - not even counting the Jack Russell who is bred to run circles around the whole family. What fun !!!

True about JRT's and in his prime, he sure did keep us all on our toes. It was a hard and sad day when we had to put him down, Same with the Shepard mix and we miss them both.

Even with just the pits now my hands are full and they do keep me busy. They remind me of a couple of 2 or 3yo toddlers. Bickering and whining "she touched me, he took my toy and I want it back, she's being mean to me' You get the idea of how that works......kids and dogs are the same.

And just when I'm ready to pull out my hair and send them packing......I'll hear a low growling sound from the female begging for belly rubs. I mean, what do you do with that??? Give her what she wants of course......until the male starts whiney barking 'what about ME, I want attention too!!'. That then sends her after him in a mock fight. I don't have a pic of him when he's in the recliner with his butt in the air and head turned upside down, doing his 'see I'm cute too' little act of jealousy. Hopefully one of these days I can get a pic and post his and their silliness.

Dont know how some owners can let their dogs behind

I don't understand people either. In this house, as much as I complain.....pets are family and they go where we go.

I often see people trying to get rid of their animals because they're moving. Or have dumped them to fend for themselves and can't take them and I want to say, then find somewhere you can. I mean, it's like having to choose amongst your kids. Grrrrrrr
