2 years ago we helped a friend fell a couple of pine trees, in the spring this year someone gave the friend the idea to sell the fatwood from the pine trees at his store. During camping and hunting season his store is very busy given that it is the only store within 40miles. He told me just for the fun of it he would make 5lb bundles and put a price of $20 per bundle he didn't care if he sold it or not, he sold all 7 bundles last weekend, he is spending this week making up more bundles.

I gather fatwood every chance I get but never imagined selling it though, No, I'm not going to sell my pine trees nor the fatwood I have though maybe it is something to think about for bartering if that time ever comes. People are willing to spend that kind of money for fatwood?... slightly dumbfounded.

no harm as long as you plant a new sapling for each tree you take down or use which has fallen.

this way it becomes sustainable...
