Bottom line: Learn 'Sustainability' Learn to grow your own food!

The US national security industry is planning for the impact of an unprecedented global food crisis lasting as long as a decade, according to reports by a government contractor.

The studies published by CNA Corporation in December 2015, unreported until now, describe a detailed simulation of a protracted global food crisis from 2020 to 2030

My take on the world events. Think of the most important things for you and your family. First is water. Find a water source that is safe and requires no electricity. A few sustainable filter systems is smart too. Second is food. Learn to grow and preserve as much as you can. This can include raising animals too. Third is security. Have a way to protect yourself and what you've worked hard for. These are the top three things to focus on. There are loads of other things, like carpentry and mechanical skills etc. that will help make your life better if the economy goes south too. It's not if he economy goes bad, but when. Hopefully we still have time to enjoy, but use some of it to learn and prepare.

Couldn't agree more with Brent. Those are my top three as well, and in that order. Everything else is gravy. (but gravy is important too).

Absolutely. By this time next year we'll be about 90% self saficent in raising, growing and gathering our own food. That's going to take a lot of canning, curing, smoking, hunting and fishing to keep us fed through most of the year. If something happened to our well we still have a couple springs, a pond and several creeks nearby for a backup supply of good water. I doubt if we'll notice much in the way of food shortages. With that being said, we are starting to stock up on hairloom seeds. I think there will be a shortage of seeds, especially hairloom seeds, within a couple of years.

Glad you pointed the seeds out. I just put some in my cart on Amazon. I let some carrots and celery grow after picking the rest so they could flower and seed. Non of them did. Damned Monsanto. Being able to sustainably plant is kind of important if you like to eat.

"Although the scenario was not produced as a forecast, it was designed to provide a plausible framework to test the resilience of the national security system from the perspective of the US government, private industry, and civil society"

Reading through the whole thing comes down to exactly this 1 line

It is a fabricated, contrived, made up, imaginary scenario.

Again follow the money, there is a run on storage foods going on right now after this has spread like fire through the prepping community. People panic when they don't research, and WHO benefits from that. First step in seeing this stuff is to follow the money.

Thats whay I posted the line in the very beginning "describe a detailed simulation" and "Bottom line: Learn 'Sustainability' Learn to grow your own food!" ;)
