I thought this was interesting. Easy.Cheap. Light. Readily available.

I will pick some up at the Dollar Store. If it works I will report back and add to my BOB's.

 
I will always use my fire starting wafers for the same reason others may use candles or homemade fire starters. Every morning we start 4" logs to 6" splits with a single wafer, no kindling, no paper. About 7¢ per wafer.
