We don't have a problem with guns.... we have a problem with lenient sentencing and treatment of criminals.
Obviously, you don't live here in the communist state of kalifornia. getting guns here is not all that easy depending on where you live. The state as a whole has a 10-day wait before you can pick it up. Magazines limited to 10 rounds, and you can only buy ONE handgun every 30 days. Then there are the assault weapons laws that we have to comply with by January 1, 2018. Also starting January 1, 2018, you will need a license to buy ammo, and it will be subject to a 10% tax, plus additional restrictions on ammo.
How do the AR rules apply to existing rifles owned?

I have a ccw, and usually carry a s&w .38 snubnose 442, a speedloader, and .38 special +p 124 grain semijacked hollowpoints. This piece rides in a leather disantis ankle holster.lj

I carry swiss army knife with all the goodies, a zippo cigarette lighter, a minimag light (the kind that uses 1 aaa battery), 440 paracord boot laces in my jungle boots, a lifestraw water purifier, a small orienteering compass, several lockpicks, and small concealed handcuff keys secreted in different parts of my clothing.

Also, a charged cell phone.

I've picked locks as a favor whe people locked themselves out of their cars and apartments.

I also carry a prepaid visa card, money, and a little notebook with all my numbers in case of an EMP (or theft).

The lockpick and handcuff keys are interesting and I've never really thought about them. The guy I get free glass gallon jugs from had a business making lock picks. He sold them all over the world. He just sold the business to another guy for retirement income. He had multi tool like kits that were cool looking, and several other different type of kits. I may look into getting one for the bob. The handcuff key? I'm sure you could get locked up by some overzealous dumb ass cop during a disaster, but think I would just do my best to avoid anyone like that. True enough though, if you are sporting a rifle during an emergency, even only defensively, it is likely to bring unwanted attention.

I got my concealed carry permit and bought a glock 19 9mm with a 15 round magazine and bought a glock 17 Pmag (17 rounds) for my extra magazine

Not sure where everyone gets their holsters but I have found my holsters of choice at On Your 6 Designs, www.onyour6designs.com . They have a lifetime guarantee and so dang comfortable I forget I have it on! Just a plug if anyone is interested.

Carry a Sig .40 in hip holster, and a S&W 9mm strapped to leg. 45 cal in concealed undershirt (in winter), and carry the M1911 .45 in shoulder holster in summer.

All my EDC holster OWB (no IWB holster of any type) leathers from Andy Arratoonian of Horseshoe Leather out of England, Don Hume Leathergoods and Gould & Goodrich for all my semi's except my revolvers. I do have leather shoulder holsters but very seldom use em anymore.

saw a darn good quote today " We carry pistols because they are convenient, not because they are effective." – John Farnam such a good point it makes me think about SBRS, Bullpups, Ultra Shortys etc as an option for EDC in stressful scenarios?
