Folding multi-use tools

Exactly. If I need a multi tool, I've screwed up and don't have tools with me. They are nice when nothing is available though.

I keep tools in my vehicles also but... my basic get home bag is for emergencies only, in case I have to walk 40 miles or less, always in the vehicle I'm driving... It has a multi-tool, fire, light rain gear, a 2400 calorie bar, 2L water pouch w/a couple of purification tablets, weapon/ammo and a very good knife, a few other select goodies...

My multi-tool has never been used for a job, only tested, it's not for regular use. Neither or my pack knives. My kits are modular... if I'm going more that 40miles from home I just add another bag. More than 100 miles... just add etc...

A multi-tool is for when I can't carry 10+ pounds of tools.

I feel like a fossil, I still carry the original Leatherman PST.

I am not surprised, it is the best & it was made to last a life time.
I wanted one for years, then someone gave me the Rebar.
