I just stumbled across this,it would be great if this was a true possibility ,,,it will require more research so I will be digging into this a little deeper

Pretty neat idea. I will read some more on it as well. Even if you could just produce enough gas to burn an outdoor cooking grill station it would be a big help post shtf. Keeping enough fuel even to cook with would amount to a lot of work with gathering twigs. I like the potential benefits of trying this.

I like the idea of heating the house or running a generator ,,,think of the money you would save
I’m thinking the gas production would be minimal and not enough to run a generator for more than a short time per day at best. But since it’s free once it’s set up, it’s a step in the right direction. When I learn some more about the realistic expectations of it I will post what I find.

if you have a pig farmer close by you could get all the free methane gas you wanted,,,,for some reason pig poo produces a lot of methane

GG,

Notice that it is all talk. I didn't see anywhere that spells out clear numbers: ie a typical family of 4 will produce enough natural gas from their septic to run a __ hp engine for __ hours a day.

I suspect the output will be lame, not enough to be worth your effort, not even close. Now if you have a dairy farm, now you're talking! Many a farmer heat their barns from biomass gas.

But until there are some real numbers, I will remain skeptical.
