I need to get some spores and give it a try. When I was a kid I had quite a bit of fun with them but these days I wouldn’t eat one on a bet. 🤣💀🤣
Me either.
The farm I grew up on had 300 head of cattle on it, and cow-patties were everywhere, many with 'magic-mushrooms'.
We teenagers couldn't resist playing with them. (they were free!:D)
We knew how to tell them apart from the poisonous ones, but...
We also found out that it is impossible to tell the potency of them.
With 2 of the same size, one could easily contain 10-times the 'magic' of the other one.
If you ever have had a 'bad trip', you never forget :(.

What you do not want to grow by accident:

Amanita phalloides is one of the most poisonous of all known mushrooms. It is estimated that as little as half a mushroom contains enough toxin to kill an adult human. It has been involved in the majority of human deaths from mushroom poisoning,

My seeds didn’t do very well, I have 3 plants at the moment. I have completely changed my growing medium I’m using only all natural compost with zero commercial fertilizer. We compost all of our scraps and we use all of the chicken house clean out. These little plants look healthy with this growing style.

As of today my inoculated Shitake mushroom logs sit out in a snow covered landscape , however my mushroom logs are covered with a tarp and a electric heater under the tarp is keeping the cooler side of the stacked mushroom logs around 40 degrees . I am waiting for snow melt and warmer days to start grinding up hardwood limbs for food to place into three other mushroom beds . -- " If " the amazon delivery person can make it through the snow , I am expecting to get a mushroom growing book today , which will give me something to read as I have no intention to going no further than the chicken pen untill after snow melt .
