I don't think you get all the rolls he had without being on 'The List'.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I will not miss him. That might sound harsh, but if he was into stuff that I think he was, he does not deserve my sadness. Now, it's up to his maker.

I've been wondering the same thing... It's why I haven't posted in this thread. He survived 40yrs in hollywood. Does that make him an insider? Maybe...

Others have lasted that long without becoming one of them, like Gibson. But there are only a few of those... He never got a mention in the 'blind item' posts. Checked tonight, no mention of him since his death either. Just don't know?

@angie_nrs Didn't finish my thought... even though Hackman never got a mention as a hollywood insider... The fact he and his wife died in such an odd manner makes me suspicious. The epstein list was in the news the first two weeks of Jan then silence until bondi mentioned it last week. I don't think it's epstein related but hollywood is very aware of q and what trump as president might mean to them in general. Just not enough info to make a call...

I'm suspicious of ALL hollyweird actors. There are certainly movies he was in that I enjoyed watching, but I just wonder what kind of things actors have to do to keep their 'relevance' in hollyweird. Do they have to sell their souls to the devil? Without a doubt, they have to keep secrets. The drug abuse and other nastiness that many actors (especially child actors) have had to deal with suggests that it ain't as great as they want eveyone to think it is. I wouldn't wish a 'hollywood' career on my worst enemy.

Gene Hackman and his wife moved to New Mexico 35 years ago. It seems he wanted to get away from the Hollywood lifestyle and its weirdness, I’m hoping that was the case.
I hope so. God knows.....and he will sort it all out.

I wonder if the dog knocked Gene down and the wife put the dog up. Or if the dog got locked in the closet accidentally-- like maybe ran in there and another dog bumped the door shut after Gene and the wife were dead. Or if somehow the wife didn't know the dog was in there. I doubt we'll ever know. I feel awful for that poor dog though. And sad for the wife. I think its most likely that Gene died before she did.

Last update I heard was that Gene's pacemaker showed its last activity was on Feb 17. I don't know where my mother heard/saw it but she said she saw a theory that Gene Hackman's wife also had a heart condition and that she may have suffered a heart attack and may have been trying to take her meds when she collapsed and that she wasn't trying to kill herself and that she hadn't expected to die too so she wasn't able to let the dog out. She said she heard the dog ate some of the pills and that may have killed it-- not sure how if the dog was locked up though and she believes stuff that is obviously BS from Youtube.

Dog likely died of dehydration. The speculation I heard is that the wife was frantic and tried to get Gene's pills from the bathroom but either slipped and hit her head or had a heart attack herself from the stress.

Sad...

JUST IN: Cause of Death Revealed for Gene Hackman and His Wife

.....KTLA revealed that at a media conference on Friday, a representative from the Santa Fe medical examiner’s office revealed Hackman’s cause of death was hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiac disease. Alzheimer’s disease was also a significant contributory factor....

....His wife Arakawa’s cause of death was hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS), a deadly disease spread by rodent droppings. It generally occurs in spring and summer in areas where people are near mouse droppings in homes, sheds, or poorly ventilated areas....

....During the press conference, officials also revealed that Arakawa’s body was in the house for a week while Hackman was still alive. She died on February 11, while Hackman passed away on February 17....

....Officials speculated that Hackman may not have known his wife was dead due to having Alzheimer’s....

The dog’s cause of death has not been released at this point.

thread drift sorta...times of stress...i had a farmer friend had a son...i think he was 30ish...getting ready to get married and had his own farm and cattle...they had a very bad farming accident and son was killed instantly and dad ran over to him and not only found him dead from accident but it was a gruesome injury you cant recover from ever...no i wont give details...in that instant upon seeing his son the father had a massive heart attack over what had just happened and blacked out for a bit..he came to on ground and it was all he could do to get phone out of his pocket and call 911 and they could tell it was serious so they sent life flight directly there...dad was around 50 to early 50's at time and healthy...the situation caused it...it was saddest thing ever.

Do pacemakers have wifi capability now? It wouldn't surprise me if they do, I just don't know. But I think they mentioned both phone batteries were dead so maybe the phone wasn't working when his heart stopped.

I also heard a black truck had entered the gated subdivision through the back gate using a pass code and a cell phone put that truck and driver inside the house twice over the 2 days after Hackmans death. Plus that same cell phone (and truck and driver) left twice and drove some distance away to a restaurant or gas station parking lot but stayed far enough away to avoid a good view from the security camera, the phone pinged of nearby towers to verify the exact location. The best part of that info, that same cell phone was located inside the home UNDER a cushion on the couch but the driver and truck were gone, and so far still unknown.

Why was the FBI there as soon as the Sheriff Department concluded their death investigation?

Guess we know one thing the sheriff thought was suspicious... A 7 day difference in the couple's stage of decomp. That would have been noticeable at a glance and suspicious.
I watched a video last night explaining this situation. Reports of the wife being mummified. The claim is she died near an electric heater and, combined with the low humidity in New Mexico, her body literally was "dehydrated" by the dry air and the heat. Apparently she was close enough to dry out but not so close as to be burned.
I encountered this once in my career. But it involved dry desert air and the air conditioner. She had been dead several weeks, she had her windows open due to a pleasantly warm day in February (southern Nevada). The combination of open windows, dry, warm weather outside, and the air conditioner running regularly caused her body to dehydrate and she didn't decompose. The most interesting thing to me, her eyes also dehydrated and as they slowly collapsed her eyelids also collapsed into her eye sockets. Looking into the eyes with a flashlight you could see the surface of the eyes lying on the bottom of her eye sockets. Sad, but very interesting. I only saw that once, and I am still in awe.

The Gene Hackman thing is very suspicious to me
I am sure its a murder
Fool play
Who are they protecting
He was not young. He was old and had Alzheimers. If his wife had died a week before him as is being reported, he may not have had the where with all to react enough to do anything. Evidently they did not have any caregivers or people that checked up on them.

Yes the black truck coming in the back and the phone being found under a cushion that had pinged days earlier on their property are suspicious.

If the dog was crated in the closet, and didn't have adequate water, it would have died from dehydration. Two dogs were outside, but this one wasn't. It may have been crated because of behavior or health issues.

Who would benefit from their death? Their children or whoever was set to inherit.

Yes, it is arid in New Mexico. It is arid in Colorado. Visitors will often comment about how dry their skin is and will seek lotion while here.

Does anyone realize the density of rodents that have to be present for this to occur? They would have eaten the Hackmans before they were found. She would have been sick enough to have sought medical attention long before she died, then Poor old Gene still being alive a few days? this whole thing is just strange!

They lived on a 4 acre property and its possible that the wife encountered rodents somewhere on the property. I'm now starting to worry about my mother bc her desk is filthy. She doesn't want to let me clean it. I'm going to have to mask and glove up and deep clean that sucker bc I'm worried she'll get hantavirus. I don't know if its in this area, but I don't want to take chances.

I had some elderly friends: CG and Helen. CG started showing signs of dementia and Helen was taking care of him. Helen had an aneurism and collapsed in the bathroom and didn't have time to press her life alert button. CG found her on the floor in a pool of blood and was too upset and confused to call 911 or press the life alert button. He ended up wandering outside when the mailman was coming and told the mailman and the mailman called 911. Helen survived but her mind was never the same after that. Both of them ended up in a nursing home where they eventually died. When my friend Cordell fell off a ladder, his wife Jeanne was too upset/panicked to call 911 so she called a friend and the friend called 911. Cordell recovered but we all made sure he didn't get up on a ladder again. So, sometimes people panic and don't call 911 when they should.

NM is so incredibly dry. Mom's skin flaked like crazy when we visited my sister there.

@Pearl I doubt the list will ever actually be released unredacted so long as people in positions of power who are on it are still alive. I've never heard any suggestion at all that Gene may have been on it though.

They said they found no evidence of rodents in the house (probably why Gene wasn't affected). But they found evidence of rodents in various outbuildings.

My mom had Alzheimer's and it's haunting me to know he wandered around that house for a week with a dead wife and a dog dying in the crate and unable to even care for himself or call for help. It sounds like the perfect storm.

Check on your folks, neighbors, friends, people!

One of the last times Mrs. Hackman was seen was when she picked up the dog from the vet where it had undergone a medical procedure. This explains why it was crated.

As far as him being on the list, it is entirely possible. Not knowing which direction from Santa Fe their gated community was, it is possible that it was actually close to Epstein's ranch, somewhere between Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

This story "DOES NOT" seem strange to me.
It says they had out buildings. If she swept those floor of mouse droppings (with no quality full face filtration) that would do her ending.

The official end of this sad event seems most probable for me.
Deaths like this situation happen all the time. The only difference is the deceased are not locals to each of us but have name recognition on a national or international level.

It’s a sad tragedy of solitude. Nothing nefarious.
