When I taught Statistics, on day one of class I wrote this on the board:

The point being, that statistics are misused more than they are properly used, to the point where you can't believe most statistical analyses.
Take a look at the two maps below. One is a county by county map of voting in the 2016 Presidential election. The other is your map. The green circles represent areas that voted Democrat AND have increased opioid addiction.
