Welcome aboard.
I understand people need for caution.
Myself I'm not overly concerned if folks know where I am. Not down to my actual address but the general location.
There were some people that went to their weekend cabin like yours and found it gone. Some idiot just jacked it up, backed a trailer under it and drove it away.
They found it a couple of miles down the road and the guy claimed it was given to him.
He kept insisting that even as he was sitting in the back seat of the county police car.

Welcome to the forum. We bought a remote ranch years ago as our bug out location. We moved on it 8 years ago and are 100% off grid, 4 miles to nearest neighbor, 18 miles to town of 500 people and a county population of 2800. This isn't our first remote property. On the first place I built a cabin, barn and out buildings myself. Cleared the land with a team of horses and dug stumps by hand.

Because our internet is through satellite our location is somewhere in Texas, but I will say hello and a warm welcome from the area which we really live in, out in the woods of
S.W.Oregon where unwelcome visitors could easily get lost (forever), as it is a number of good people have gotten on logging roads because of following GPS info at the wrong time of year and ended up dying.

Possibly. I tried to track myself on one of my forums a few years back, I could get the city and thats it, but tech has moved along though.

I have my reasons for the lack of noting location. Im pleased only a few responses seem to show a concern. At this early stage of introducing myself to a worldwide community I see no real reason where I’m at matters as much as who I am and why I’m here. Your mention of security is real for my situation. More so from my mind and level of concern. The local is not extremely remote. Cell service is available but limited.I’m looking into a cellular booster to improve this but that requires power even when I’m not there. My son uses remote trail cams for hunting in another state. They are battery operated and capable of several months of operation before replacement depending on settings. That along with an inexpensive cellular plan allows pics and real time access to cameras downloaded to your cell phone. Requires no contract and has proven pretty reliable. As of last Friday my cabin is set. So my journey has taken the next step. Security shutters, dead bolts and chains n locks only keep the honest, honest. Replacement insurance will be looked into today in case of the worst.I’m fortunate to have a small network of people who can mind the place and know the area. Personally myself, I View attachment 91231 wouldn’t want them finding me in the wrong place. Thanks for your response. Everything you’ve mentioned I’ve considered. That to me means I’m on a good track and by all means keep the thoughts coming to keep me in check

I do like your building and that it has a porch. Looks like good trees around it. Are you going to be totally off grid? (I have not read all the previous posts. I saw your building and you and like it).
And as havasu said, location helps with giving advice when needed. It does not have to be exact, but I put N. AL. instead of exactly where I am, but close enough for good answer if I ask about weather or growing.
